Double Trouble has posed:
When Double Trouble joined Obsidian, they did so as a freelancer. They needed Obsidian, because they needed access to Dark Energy to use their magic. They can't get by in this world without their magic. But they didn't know anything about the organization besides there was a creepy old witch who gave them a magic necklace and an apple that taught them Japanese. So they'd been freelancing ever since.

And that ended up looking like being Sunbreaker's sidekick. They loved that stupid unicorn, but they were nobody's sidekick. They were a star. They deserved leading roles. But, until recently, they just weren't sure where they might fit in.

And then they caught wind of drama via some HR memos, and it dawned on them exactly where they were needed. The entire firm could make use of their unique set of skills if they were working in Human Resources, and it would give them something to do besides help their hapless roommate.

And so they went through proper channels and scheduled a meeting because they know how bureaucracies work. They show up five minutes early in their very best them-suit: green skin, yellow hair, and black mesh bodysuit, gloves, and tall, black leather boots.

Fuyuko Yuuhi has posed:
Fuyuko was, as usual, busy in her office, handling emails, notifications, and especially memos. There were more important tasks, too - delegating work to her subordinates, assigning cases, ensuring that end of year bonuses were sent out and quarterly reviews were submitted - but mostly it was the memos. Endless memos in an effort to at least have a paper trail on file to show Obsidian was handling the nonsensical behavior at the bottom, middle, and top.

All of which is to say, she'd been more than happy to accept a meeting with one of their freelancers - anything to get a break from paperwork.

A subordinate leads Double Trouble to the door when they arrive early, and Fuyuko steps out from behind her desk to open the door and let them in.

"You're early," she notes, "How refreshing."

The inside of Fuyuko's office is like a slightly larger version of the other offices here - dark wood furnishings, a pair of large bookshelves with human resources titles interspersed with novels, and a large row of tinted windows offering a decent view of the city. Not the best - the sixth floor isn't that high - but decent enough. She gestures towards one of the padded chairs and returns to her seat behind her desk.

"So, you called this meeting, why don't you tell me what it's all about?"

Double Trouble has posed:
Double Trouble steps into the office and looks around. They smile, pleased that they seem to already be making the good impression they want to. The best actors do their research. The best actors become their roles, and nobody becomes a role as well as they do.

Their tail swishes, curling up behind them, and they look toward Fuyuko and smile. "I haven't been on this floor before, and I wanted to respect your time," they say as they follow her to the desk and slide into one of the chairs indicated. Their tail coiling down around one of the legs.

"I'd like to come work for you," they say, simply. "I've been here long enough to get a solid foooting, and now I'm looking for a little more purpose. I may not look it, but I have decades of relevant experience to bring to bear on some of the rather unique problems an organization like this one might run into."

Fuyuko Yuuhi has posed:
Fuyuko sees every official employee and freelancer that passes through Obsidian's actual channels at least once, even if only through their files. It's a benefit here - she's not surprised by the green skin, the tail, the horizontal blink, and she can focus on the greater surprise - the request to find a place in Human Resources.

"You've been a freelancer for several months, primarily associated with Sunbreaker, correct?" She'd taken a look at the file, and hadn't seen anything too out of the ordinary or especially ambitious - Riventon was always leading some initiative or effort and Sunbreaker couldn't seem to stop initiating attacks left and right, and of course Beryl Holdings' had had plenty for their subordinates to do... Double Trouble hadn't risen to the top in terms of interesting parties.

"I appreciate your efforts; usually your peers aren't as mindful of time. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't get the feeling you want to work in the mundane side of Human Resources - so what are you hoping to get out of this? There's got to be something more specific on your mind than purpose. Is it power? Drama? Information? Something similar and yet still distinct?"

There's an edge of amusement in her voice, a twitch of her lips that could almost, if one squinted, be considered a smile.

Double Trouble has posed:
Double Trouble nods to Fuyuko's first question. They have been a freelancer for several months, and they have been primarily associated with Sunbreaker. That's the problem. But they don't want to say that. Besides, they could go anywhere to get a role apart from the unicorn, they chose here.

"All of the above? Information is power, and I live for drama. But really, what I want is more inspiration for good roles. Sunbreaker never lets me apply my craft. They're always coming to me at the last minute with impossible asks. I'm a thespian, not a miracle worker," they say. They don't want to say it, but they're saying it anyway.

"I'm starting to try my own hand at production. I'm trying to get in good with the sparkle skirts by having them rescue Dianora from youma. I did a trial run with She-Ra a little while ago, and it went off flawlessly. But, that whole project is very long-term. It's a slow burn. I want interesting things from more competent colleagues."

Fuyuko Yuuhi has posed:
The Human Resources department didn't particularly need a drama hound looking for a place to shine - but Fuyuko could absolutely use one of those for her other work. There was a benefit to having someone positioned amidst the youth, especially when that someone wouldn't be discovered. Discord amidst the light side would only advance the dark's agenda, at least until they inevitably came back together in a rush of friendship and togetherness.

But until then...

"I might have a position available for you," she says bluntly, "But not necessarily doing the usual human resources work. Seems a waste to just have you leading trainings and writing memos, when you could be chasing some real drama."

She steeples her fingers, well aware of what a cliche villain she looks like and trying to ignore it.

"Your productions with the ... sparkle skirts sounds like a good tact to try out, but you're right, that is a long term project. One of our goals here in Human Resources is to push our employees to their limits and encourage them to spread their wings. Given our profession, that means a little... both managing and creating drama, at times. I'm sure you've seen our latest spurt of memos?"

Double Trouble has posed:
"Oh, absolutely. The latest round of memos is why I asked for the meeting. Reading between the lines, I was sure you could put my skills to good work," they say with a nod. Of course, they'd expected her to want to put their skills to good work that was different than the work they already had planned. But, this was a big endorsement of their own plan. If this meant they'd get more resources to work with, maybe they could go bigger than they'd planned.

They'd have to think on what that even meant. And it would be good to know what Fuyuko was actually thinking, before they got ahead of themself.

"What kind of role were you thinking, then?"

Fuyuko Yuuhi has posed:
"I'd like to give you a test assignment, to see how well you can promote the goals of our department. As you may have heard, Beryl Holdings has had some staffing changes, recently, and I'd like an inside look at how they're shaking out. We do want to support all of our divisions after all, and there's such an unfortunately tendency towards secrecy here."

She smiles, finally, and it's a touch mocking, at the thought of Beryl. That woman was never going to be honest about the damage losing all of our present generals had done, and she was never going to admit that she'd fumbled the ball. Fuyuko couldn't care less about the woman's ambitions, but she did need to know if they were looking at a recapture agenda.

"The majority of my staff are both mundane and very well known. You, on the other hand, are not. Give me the on the ground look at how things are really going - and if that works out, I'll have other assignments for you. If that sounds like the kind of drama you're looking for."

Double Trouble has posed:
Double Trouble cannot help but smile. This is exactly the kind of work they had in mind. It's always a good feeling when a new working relationship starts off with such good alignment. "That's exactly the assignment I was imagining when I asked for the meeting. Glad to see we're already thinking along the same lines," they say.

Their tail unwinds from around the chair and then their entire body sort of just fades into a blob of inky blackness and then reforms as a young woman with pink and purple hair. She looks like she'd fit right in amongst royalty, but she's sitting there in a RHA uniform. "And, I have just the face for it," she says.

"When you put in the paperwork, the name is Glimmer Brightmoon."
