Not Burying Him
Date of Scene: 04 March 2024
Location: Function Hall
Synopsis: Chiyo still needs advice about the boy who asked her out on her First Date. Naru and Usagi have suggestions. Some are even good!
Cast of Characters: Chiyo Sakai, Usagi Tsukino, Naru Osaka

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
TXT to Usagi: I know things got a bit out of hand at lunch the other day, but I think I could use to talk about the guy I went on a date with some if you're available for a bit?

The text was shot off, as well as where she currently was, as Chiyo looks around the Function Hall. It wasn't too busy this time of year other than practices. When was basketball season anyway? She didn't really know. It was a good enough place to meet since it wasn't busy, and there was plenty of room. Plus it wasn't out in the cold. Spring was here, but the temperatures still dropped plenty quickly and she tugs her sweater a bit tighter around herself due to it.

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
TXT to Chiyo= Of course!! It's still an issue, so! I'll be there in a bit!

And in a bit, she is indeed present, breathing a little fast from half-running over in her desire to be quick to help her friend-and-cousin. She's got a Naru with her.

TXT to Chiyo= also i brought naru-chan sorry not sorry but she went on a date with a jerk so she has experience!

"Chiyo-chan, we're here! No one's going to need this place for practice, are they? I don't know when basketball season is."

Naru Osaka has posed:
And so, Naru is along for the ride! At least she brought a coffee, because of course she brought a coffee. "Chiyo went on a date with who?"

Clearly Naru is out of the loop, a horrible thought for one who usually is in know. "Uhh.. I think we're in basketball season, but apparently not during a practice?" She offers into the mix of basketball opinions. "I'm not sure though, it's not like they are looking for /us/ for basketball."

Usagi might be taller than Naru, but that's really not saying much.

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Chiyo Sakai glances up from reading the texts on her phone as Usagi and Naru arrive. She's by the bleachers that were pushed back a bit so they weren't fully extended. There was still a few rows of seats available on it, just not the topmost ones.

A quick smile is flashed, and she lifts up a little bag with the familiar logo from Nounamu on it. "I brought snacks!" she assures with a chuckle as the two approach. "Thanks for coming, Usagi-chan. You too Naru-chan. This whole dating thing is kind of new to me."

Sitting down she waits for the pair to join her as she explains, "Kukai Soma. He's new to the school. I met him at the konbini and we chatted, and then he visited the shop, and then asked me out." It's a small catch-up explanation.

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"And then he told Chiyo-chan that he's been on dates with lots of girls, but usually they ask him out instead of the other way around, and then I asked her if he was a player," she huffs, "But we didn't get to get into it, because we got fooded."

Naru has already been subject to Usagi's complaints about the extra emergency laundry that had to be done because an three lunch trays got tipped over her.

Naru Osaka has posed:
"I don't think any of us can say that we're crazy experienced at dating." Naru points out as they settle for a proper bit of gossip time. With snacks! "Usagi and Mamoru have been nothing but adorbs since the start, even if they fought it for a bit."

"So.." Naru skips over the complaints about extra laundry again. "Is he a player? Or just indecisive? Or like.. just bad at saying no to girls asking him on dates?"

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Chiyo Sakai winces a little bit at the way Usagi explains it... And reminds of the waste of food at lunch. She'd had to borrow a uniform from Usagi to clean up herself. Some neatly wrapped tri-colored dango are offered out to the pair, as well as some leftover chocolates if they want.

"I think he's just bad at saying no to them? He said he never made it past three dates with them, and that since he was pretty good on sports teams at his old school he felt they were just trying to get popular by dating him."

"He *seems* nice," she remarks with an uncertain sigh. Then looking mildly embarassed she mumbles, "We went and had pizza at the mall, then he asked if he could hold my hand while we walked around. He even asked to borrow some manga so we could chat about it sometime."

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"Hmmm... that does all sound really cute," Usagi says, before plopping an entire dango into her mouth in one bite. She chews, humming in delight at the flavors filling her mouth. This, this is what food is for! Delight, all for her tummy!

"If he's bad at saying no, that could be good for you too, if you really like him," she points out, like any good problematic fave would. "Do you think you want to go on another date with him? Reading manga for you is a good sign, I think..."

Naru Osaka has posed:
Naru nibbles at a dango, but that's hardly new. She does drink more coffee. "Awww. That sounds pretty awesome, actually."

She nods at Usagi's questions. "Did you like him? Like.. was it a good time? Cause that's what really matters in the end. Was it enjoyable?"

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Chiyo Sakai fiddles with her phone momentarily to pull up a photo she had of him, which she turns to show the pair. She'd *tried* to show Usagi earlier. It didn't quite work out. "... I think I do I just..." Here she pauses pursing her lips together.

"It feels fast? So far I think I'm the only one he knows, too, so I guess I'm a little afraid to get attached." Sheepishly she adds, "I did agree to go on another date, though. I guess if I make it past three dates then maybe I can quit worrying on that."

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"Hmm... he is cute," Usagi judges, nodding decisively after a moment. "So that's good!"

Obviously, it would be a disaster if he wasn't cute. What if he was Umino?!

"Fast could definitely be a thing to worry about, especially since he's got that whole history... maybe... hmmm, you could invite him to hang out with some of us? Then you won't be like, the only person he knows, and you can stop worrying about that at least."

Naru Osaka has posed:
"He is pretty cute." Naru conceedes as she considers the photo on the phone and then she flashes an impish grin. "Not blonde french model cute, but y'know." She doesn't even try and hide her bias.

"Well.. fast isn't /so/ bad.. you aren't like.. betrothed to the guy. You're going on some dates. If you decide you dont like doing that, then stop and go find another cute boy to eat pizza with and hold hands with. If you do like him, and still do after a few more dates, then you're winning."

Chiyo Sakai has posed:
Chiyo Sakai relaxes almost visibly as both reassure her that this wasn't too unusual. "That's a good idea, Usagi-chan. He did say he'd like to get to know my friends as well. Plus," she adds with a chuckle, "Maybe I can find out that way if he just bounces around a lot. Though if he hits on someone else in front of me..." Here she pauses holding up a fist. Clench.

"You're right though. I've just only had one crush before."

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"If he hits on someone in front of you, I know a place we can bury him," Usagi says earnestly, "A Witch's labyrinth was there, so no one should find it."

Usagi, is that really the best solution!?

"But, seriously, I think him meeting more people will be good, because he'll make friends, and you'll see him hanbg out with more people..."
