Over the sea
Date of Scene: 23 January 2024
Location: Plot Room 2
Synopsis: After scene 1031, what happened to Firefly and Riventon? Well... bad things happened. Very, very bad things. A whole ocean of trouble for the dusk scientist.
Cast of Characters: Takashi Agera, Hotaru Tomoe

Takashi Agera has posed:
Riventon had lost a lot of focus on his teleport, from Zoisite's verbal needling to the energy spent on not being lit on fire (by also Zoisite and the formalwear guy) to dealing with the fact that Hotaru broke her device and was no longer Hotaru. Doing so many things at once as he was, with so much chaos and mental distraction - it wasn't going to be like everything he was doing was going to come off perfectly. He didn't scoot up all of Luminous Titan's parts, and he didn't rightly know where he'd taken himself and the long-haired tall not-Hotaru-anymore lady.

Luckily, though, Japan is just a big island and if you can get out 'east, really far' as a general destination you're unlikely to run into anything resembling infastructure, or people, or land.

And that's what Riventon did - the circular gateway opening before the two of them arrived in the salty air over the Pacific Ocean, Riventon's left arm still smoldering from where the purification energy had cut through him and erased some of his body - and yet he was still more focused on the threat that he teleported away with than what was on his own arm. Bodies could heal. Dead people didn't un-dead.

Hotaru Tomoe has posed:
It hurt. IT HURT IT HURT IT HURT IT HURT! The purification washed over her, burning part of her away. No. NO! SHE WOULD DESTROY THEM! SHE WOULD--

Then, a moment later, she was gone. Hovering over the ocean, the wild, frantic, flailing hair grabbed the only thing left.

Riventon.

Worse, he'd find himself unable to dusk port away once the hair latched onto him.

Hotaru screamed, the hair moving to bind him, lashing at him, choking him. As she pulled him in closer, hands clawing at him as she viciously, cruelly, struck out without mercy. Desperate to destroy the cause of her pain.

The fact part of him had been ash'd on top of things likely didn't make it much, or any, better. If anything it likely made things worse. So much worse.

It was worse than last time. This conversion was so much more powerful and dangerous than last time. But that angry, animalistic destruction... that was there.

Takashi Agera has posed:
The first thought that ran through Riventon's mind was a simple if silly one... he really didn't want to die to hair. That would kind of be ignoble. The fact that he could feel her power distorting his attempts to Duskport and escape was the next concern. Well, that and her absolutely terrifying power, cloying, oppressive power.

He felt so weak compared to her. He needed space. Her power was so strong just standing (or being attacked and assaulted by) her was too much.

Riventon reached out with both hands and tried to surge her away, no time or focus for spells, just trying to buy himself a little space, a breath or two, by bursting out uncontrolled dark energy in a torrent.

Hotaru Tomoe has posed:
The burst of power.... was effective. It made the Hotaru get whipped back, tumbling away.... except her hair was still latched onto him, dragging him WITH her.

And then she was right at it again, yanking him close and then launching herself and him forward. Water would wash over the two of them when she sent them both shattering through a wave, letting out a truly animalistic, violent roar of anger, pain and frustration. She didn't see him, all she saw was a threat. Another threat to her existence. To her. To be eliminated. Removed.

Takashi Agera has posed:
That wave was like hitting a wall of bricks - sure it was water and they went through it, but being driven through it still kicked out what little breath he'd managed to get. But as the water dropped off him and the seasalt burned into his wounds, he did manage to get something out of his throat beyond just coughing.

"Hotaru-chan." he called out to her. He reached out and put a hand around one of her wrists, though that did little to stop her from raining down angry blows on him. "Hotaru-chan... I can't help you... like this..."

Hotaru Tomoe has posed:
Hotaru, from his perspective, didn't change. The hand on his wrist was grabbed by one of the strands of hair... and a cruel, vicious grin formed on her lips.

And then she crushed it. Breaking the wrist without an ounce of mercy.

Then both hands reached out, grabbing him by his coat... And driving him down. Smashing him into the water surface below, then dragging him up. Skipping him across the ocean like a pepple.

Externally.

Internally, however, a little fragment of Hotaru tried to open her eyes. Tried, with struggling, to taper this down. To control it. To make it STOP!

Takashi Agera has posed:
That crunching sound was on the one hand familiar - Takashi had broken bones before, Riventon had anyways. And somewhere in his mind he thought 'Hotaru's gonna lecture me' when he goes to get healing. Untill his brain remembered the one breaking his hand is Hotaru. Or had been Hotaru. Was at one point, Hotaru.

Takashi came up from the water, sputtering and coughing. Not Riventon - Takashi Agera. The pain and the danger and everything had been too much and it wasn't like the girl - the woman - who was in front him jerking his body around like a rag doll, wasn't capable of killing him in henshin anyways.

"Hotaru-chan, it's me. Takashi. Your friend. You're my lab assistant." he tried, his face a mixture of emotional and very very real physical pain.

"Remember? I got you this." he says, as his device releases something from within the storage space...

    A little plush penguin.

Hotaru Tomoe has posed:
Takashi. It was Takashi. He was helpless. Her fingers reached up around his throat and... and didn't squeeze.

Squeeze. SQUEEZE!

STOP! STOP!

He was her Senpai. He trained her. Helped her. Protected her. Guided her. Listened to her.

The fingers around his throat trembled. It would be so easy. Just. A tiny. Squeeze. That was all it would take. She could break his throat, just like that.

But then he talked.

The hands around his throat... hesitated. Couldn't... do it...

And then the plushy.

Stop. Please, please stop. Don't hurt him.

No. Destroy him. Kill him.

Stop! STOP IT!

ENOUGH!

For a moment, that cruelty vanished and... And she shoved him.

Hard.

So hard even her hair was pulled from him. Sending him flying through the air. Him and the plush. She screamed, clutching her head, writhing for a moment... Before looking back at him, the cruelty in her eyes once more....

And she rocketed through the air, towards him, screaming the whole way.

Takashi Agera has posed:
Well, it worked. Somehow. Barely. He wasn't entirely helpless without his henshin, but he sure wasn't survivng any more. It at least prevented him from sinking to the depths of the ocean, since he could still scorn gravity. He cradled his hand with his other hand and let out a string of expletives.

And then in that moment he wished he was under water, because she was coming back. Charging back. Rage in her eyes. That wave of pressure would hit before she did.

But Takashi had a moment to react, and a moment is all Takashi needed to step from this world to his second world, to the home of the other part of him. In a moment, the boy jumps to the Dusk Zone to get away from his raging adopted sister.

Once he's there, he waits for a moment - not sure if she was capable of following him. But when she doesn't... he sinks to his knees and holds his hand and screams in an anguish of more than just phsyical pain.

Hotaru Tomoe has posed:
The angry, vicious monster in Hotaru's body lashed out. Slashing, destroying. Exploding with dark energy. Tearing at the ocean itself, waging war on Poseidon as it were. However... there was nobody else to attack. And while the fish of the ocean may have wished she were anywhere else, there was little for her to do until, eventually... she began to collapse. Her rage spent.

Her hair retracted, her body began to crumble and the magic hiding her... faded.

Hotaru, not Firefly or even Dark!Firefly, fell into the ocean...

Only for another figure, Kaolinite, to appear a moment later and pull her from the depths. She held the small, broken child in her arms and sighed.

She then glanced around. No sign of that glaive. No sign of Takashi. Had she... destroyed both?

Well... she supposed that was fine. Possibly for the best. It wasn't like they needed him, anyway. Not anymore.
