A Wedding's Musical Intervention

Synopsis:	Coco and Nephrite meet at the Pearl Pier, and the latter brings her up to speed on everything they are preparing for the Wedding.

Coco Kiumi has posed:
Just a few days ago, Coco has a surprise encounter with Wicked Lady and New Moon at Mamoru's Cat Café. Lots of things had been said, but the top 2 things Coco took from it was that Nephrite would help smooth things with her being invited to sing at the wedding and that they were planning to use said wedding as an excuse to gather enough mahous in one place to purify the two corrupted heroines.

That being the case, she has sent Nephrite a few messages through the number Mamoru gave her, and talked to him about being the wedding's singer, then invited the Shitennou at the Pearl Pier, giving him the address and all, and being explained that everyone who works there is magical, so it's one of the most secure they can have for these types of magic discussions.

Once Nephrite would have reached the hotel's address, he would have found himself let in by Nikora, the hotel's manager, and a minute after, Coco would have shown up to meet him, and bring him to her bedroom at the hotel.

The day Coco had invited Nephrite, the blonde girl had chosen to wear a sleeveless off-shoulder yellow blouse with lace trimmings, a silver necklace with a heart pendant, fur arm-warmers, a denim micro with heart belt and her shell locket hanging off it, white sneakers with short pant legs resting on top of them.

"Hello, Sanjouin-san, make yourself at home", Coco invites him with a smile, pushing open the door to her bedroom and inviting him to a chain next to a desk while she sits on her bed.

Nephrite has posed:
He moved through the with a jingle of car keys loose about his fingers and sunglasses pushed up onto his head, but Masato was all silk shirt and trousers; matching belt and shoes in italian leather. He did not often find himself in Yumegahama, but a fine hotel and a beachy breeze was welcome reception against the stresses of late. The atmosphere suited him.

A small reminder that Summer was here. It was a shame he hadn't time to really enjoy it, yet. He longed for some sort of fruity little cocktail with a swordfish twizzler in it, or something. Oh, to be sunning himself in a deckcahir, and not having to think about things.

A short bow before he enters, polite, though even in that motion, he's a good deal taller than her.

"Thank you," Sapphire eyes turned to Coco, wavy brown hair tumbling from a shoulder as he settled easily into the seat. "Apologies again for how little notice there was... Everything has been a little hectic, lately."

Coco Kiumi has posed:
Coco isn't too bothered by how much taller Masato is than her. Her boyfriend is around the same height as Masato.

"No worries about it", Coco promptly replies. "There have been lots of things going on lately, what with Sailor Moon's disappearance, Chibiusa becoming Wicked Lady, and the trip to the future concluding so suddenly." She frowns a bit at that last remark.

"But at least we have dealt with a lot of Black Moon's soldiers. I am sure it won't take long before we find Usagi again and purify Chibiusa", she goes back to smiling.

"Anyway, we are here about the weddings. As you can see by the hotel, my people are well off enough that we can help out however you need us to, but what Mamoru and I agreed on was to use my singing", the blonde girl quickly introduces the subject.

"A few things about me, first. As a mermaid, my singing is also my power, so I will want to stay out of henshin for the event, otherwise my voice will purifying things, and hurting both a guest and the bride doesn't really help", she explains. "Do you have any particular song you want me to sing?"

Nephrite has posed:
"About that," Masato's arm leans upon the desk, drumming his fingers in a single round, wondering where best to begin. "I've been told your song power could be compared to a patch of Dusk Zone, in the opposite direction. We do need that kind of help."

He took a short breath, shifting his leg to hook over the other.

"The real wedding will be happening afterwards. The first half will be a false ceremony. It's just a trap to get Wicked Lady and New Moon in place." Masato grimaced. "We are going to purfiy them. As a matter of fact, we've organised quite a bit around holding Wicked Lady in place to provide a window where everyone can focus on New Moon. It's going to be a battle, before it's a wedding."

His brows knit apologetically. "I realise this must all sound... very strange."

Coco Kiumi has posed:
Coco hums when Masato talks about their plans for the wedding. Mamoru did say something about that, though they hadn't had the time to discuss the exact details. That makes a lot of sense. Neither Wicked Lady nor New Moon would miss something so important.

"It kinda is like that", Coco replies to Masato at the description of her power. "Being called a good version of the Dusk Zone is a bit flattering, but I understand the way you mean it", she smirks.

"But it's true being around my singing is not good for people with dark energy. It's kinda like having a arrow in your arm. Removing that arrow is going to hurt, and disinfecting the wound is going to hurt."

Not that she knows what that feels like, but that was the example she had on hand. "My singing replaces the negative feelings that make up the dark energy with positive feelings, and for the same reasons it's good at keeping up morale and calming people."

She leans forward, hands intertwined in front of her. "I take it you have been told New Moon is actually a magical girl that was corrupted, just like Chibiusa?"

Nephrite has posed:
Masato is deeply familiar with what it feels like to be purified from a long steep in dark energies, and the slight tightening around his eyes hints at the fact. Those two weren't long into their power but they were handling quite a lot of it, and especially in Chibiusa's case, there would come a tipping point sooner than later.

"I've been in this mess from the outset." He murmured tiredly. "New Moon is somebody very important to Chibiusa, and right now, she's also acting as a proxy for Usagi's wishes. I can assure you that Usagi is safe, but Wicked Lady is keeping the remaining Black Moon Clan at bay. She's protecting her parents, for the moment. But it's been a delicate situation."

A small shrug rolled his shoulders. "Mamoru's walking a very careful line to help steer things from the inside, and make sure this situation doesn't escalate too far... at least, not into permanent damages. I'm doing what I can to help co-ordinate things from the outside, and so are a few other friends. There'll be Devicers taking care of security to lock things down, and ensure this all goes as smoothly as possible."

Coco Kiumi has posed:
Coco nods at Masato's confirmation. He was aware then. That makes sense. New Moon's entrance into the Shed was hard to miss. She doubts that there is anybody who would have had a different conclusion. Unless for some reason they weren't aware of how the statuette she had enchanted was set up to work, but anybody should.

She however wasn't aware that there has apparently been a very specific pattern to Chibiusa's actions, a pattern that has been hindering Black Moon. "If Chibiusa has been holding Black Moon back, do we have a plan to handle its remaining members for when she returns back to normal?", she bites her lips at the complication.

A gesture of consent reaches Masato at this next phase. "That's definitely something we should avoid. Being prepared for fighting of that level is essential, I know. I could try calling the other mermaid princesses, but I can't guarantee they would be able to come and help. Their kingdoms are occupying a lot of their time since there is still a bit of unease."

Nephrite has posed:
"Even just you throwing your hat in the ring here will be a tremendous help." Masato grants, though he looks grateful for her concerned offer. "Laura-san, Wako-san, and Madoka-san will also be there to help. And, with any luck, we'll hopefully have Usagi-chan back to help us with Wicked Lady."

He nods. "We're not sure what will happen afterwards, if we pull this off... But we do have a possible means of tracking Saphir's movements, and we're looking into that. Until then, we're hoping that Chibiusa will be able to tell us more once she's back to herself. She's going to be more difficult to reach, however..."

The Heavenly King tilts his head considerately, "It's also going to be Chibiusa's birthday-- we're making a second cake for her, and everything. Which, not everyone may understand, given everything else."

He trails off some, thoughtful. "My parents were always too busy to pay much attention to me, as a child. Having come from that sort of thing, I can't help but feel I understand something of her wishes."

So much of this trouble had come from her feeling overlooked, in her own time. At the heart of all this, Masato felt she was looking for a place where that wasn't true. Wanting to be the most important thing, and at least for a little while. For that to be true no matter what, even on a day like her parents' wedding.

"The best way to reach her is to celebrate her. So, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind, when the time comes, could you sing her Happy Birthday?"

Coco Kiumi has posed:
Would Chibiusa have learnt something that could turn the tide while she was Wicked Lady? Possibly. Would also explain why her dark self is able to treat them as she pleases, if she has things on them they would have been having a bad time without.

She is tempted to stand up when Masato reveals it's Chibiusa birthday soon enough, and she starts thinking about presents, about all sort of decorations that would be more apt for a birthday than a wedding, or what Chibiusa herself would like.

"Don't worry, I will start working on a gift she will appreciate", Coco agrees without hesitation, and she starts feeling the hurry since it can't be too far. One/two weeks top, maybe? Which is the day of her birthday? Are there any preparations missing? Or just the individual gifts?"

Nephrite has posed:
A small smile settles upon his handsome face, charmed. "Her birthday is officially on the thirtieth of June. I'm sure gifts would be appreciated... The wedding reception is also, sort of, a Happy Birthday to her. And given she'll have gone through a lot..."

He's brows furrowed. "Well, she'll be in need of some kindly attention. I'll be protecting the Wedding and Wicked Lady cakes, as it is, so if I need to extend that to a gifts table, we'll make do."

Masato hums, casting his gaze to the window, beyond which Summer continues. "Everything else is in hand... Rashmi-chan and Koji-kun are on top of all the catering, and the food with be stored safely until the dust actually settles. I'll be casting some illusions to make sure Wicked Lady doesn't notice anything amiss. Mina-chan and Zoisite are handling most of the decorations and floral arrangements."

Sapphire eyes drift back towards Coco. "But yes... if some time is taken to sing her Happy Birthday, before the rest of the set, I think that would make her happy. Wako-san and I still have to find the time to rehearse a duet," He laughed faintly, as if this is the cherry on and overwhelmed sundae, "I'll send you a list of songs, but please, if you have any suggestions as well... for the non-purifying entertainment, I mean."

Coco Kiumi has posed:
Coco raises an eyebrow at the birthday date. Isn't that the same as Usagi's? And also the Queen candidate from Grand Ocean celebrates it on the same day. While she has never really interacted with the latter, she assumes things will get busy fast with as many as three birthdays for the same day.

But even more than that, she starts understanding what life must have been like in her own world. Not only was she setup with an incredibly accomplished pair of parents, but she couldn't even have her own special day.

In that regard, the Wicked Lady situation ensuring the efforts for those wishing to celebrate Chibiusa specifically both complicates matters, since they have all the instruments needed to make it reserved for her, but at the same time, they also have the wedding fresh in their mind.

Better not buy anything that even accidentally connects mother and daughter, she considers herself, and that's a thing letting Nephrite and others closes their fists first. "I will makes a list over all that is beneficial for that birthday, and she has a private one even more decorated. "Please be honest on anything that is missing", she speaks out loud.

Nephrite has posed:
"I think that covers the urgent parts of what you need to know." Masato's finger taps the desk. "Arrive at the moon, act natural, let Wicked Lady take her spot on her special throne... Several people will move to contain Wicked Lady there, while everyone else focusses on New Moon, and you-- and others-- work to purify her as fast as possible. Then, we hit Wicked Lady with all we've got. Then, a Happy Birthday surprise to a hopefully small again Chibiusa-chan and, finally, some actual wedding."

He clicks his tongue, deciding it may be remiss of him not to at least mention the Best man. "Riventon will be there, but don't hold back on his account. He's big enough and ugly enough to take care of his own bumps, and he knows what to expect." He waved his hand. "I'll keep you updated if anything major changes with the battle plans. Anything pink and bunny-themed, obviously, will be a hit."

Coco Kiumi has posed:
Coco sits straighter when she gets told that of course acting natural will be an important part. Normally she is all awkward and nervous when she sets out to conceal something from others, but there is no doubt in her golden eyes this time, as the fact she is doing this for a friend's sake removes any hesitation she could possibly have.

"You can count on me, Sanjouin-san", she promises, and for anything that connects with auras, it's like there are small flames bouncing off of Coco, as her resolution shows itself fully. "I won't let her go anywhere, that's also something I can contribute thanks to the Live Stage."

She takes to heart that Riventon won't have much trouble. After all, this is not the first time they have clashed against each other. They are really familiar with how the other one fights. "I think that everything is clear to me now. Do you want to head to the kitchens? We have a lot of things we can offers guest", she mentions with a bright smile.

Nephrite has posed:
"I would love to." A smirk alights on his face, now. With the Live Stage, the Devicer containment measures and Sailor Mercury's blessed ice trap, there's slimmer and slimmer chance of New Moon or Wicked Lady getting too much elbow room.

"You know, I still do have to arrange beverages..." He concedes thoughtfully, thinking again of that cocktail he fancied now that the offer is made. "Perhaps we can arrange a drinks menu, while we're there."

Pink summery mocktails, and other effervescent refreshments, the Pearl Pier could certainly provide.
