Cast of Characters: Niji Dasshu, Makoto Kino

Niji Dasshu has posed:
Niji Dasshu had only recently watched her friend and totally normal girl (not) Adora Rainbowfist obliterate a bus stop and launch very large chunks of metal at Hinoiri and also turn her sword into a lasso and jump away. It was a busy night. But she hadn't seen the blonde girl since.

But then Niji realized, she totally knows where Adora lives and it's not even that far away! Same dorm building, anyways. Sure she ran away that night but the girl had to sleep, right? Even if she wasn't really answering Niji's texts or anything.

So she knocked on the door - a rather rapid knock given that she wasn't... thinking about Adora's roommate. Or anybody's roommate existing. Which means when a different girl comes to the door and sees Niji, shorts and white t-shirt with a jackeet and *oh man that hair* - it's not what she's expecting.

Makoto Kino has posed:
The door opens almost immediately, before Niji's gotten more than two or three quick raps in. The girl on the other side is - well, she's definitely not Adora, though she's just as tall. Makoto's expression is half anxious, half almost eager, shading quickly into mild confusion as she takes in the sight of Niji standing there in the hall. "...Hi?"

Niji Dasshu has posed:
"You... you're not Rainbowfist-san." Niji says, bluntly. She tilts her body as if to peer behind Makoto, and make sure she has the right room. "This is Rainbowfist-san's room, right?" the girl with the equally crazy hair asks looking for the girl with the crazy last name. It... takes her a moment. Then she blinks.

"Oh! Oh. Are you her roommate?" Niji asks. "Niji Dasshu, I'm one of her friends. Has she... been... here? Lately?" she asks. She's not sure what she should or shouldn't say and is clearly debating it now - thinking right before talking, as she does.

Makoto Kino has posed:
Makoto's eyes light up at the mention of 'Rainbowfist,' not that it makes her look much less anxious. "Adora-chan is my roommate, yeah. She hasn't been back in days, though, and I'm getting seriously worried."

She reaches up distractedly to run her hand over her hair, pushing her messy bangs back out of her eyes, and then remembers herself. "Sorry, I'm Makoto Kino. If you're looking for Adora-chan, I'm sorry, I have no idea where she is."

Niji Dasshu has posed:
"Yeah... you probably should be worried." Niji says, because her mouth moves faster than her brain. "...uh... crap, that really isn't helping you is it." she says, sighing. "Look, I'm sorry, I'm worried too. Last time I saw her she wasn't herself at all. She was... really angry. And I've never seen Rainbowfist-san so... so angry. Like, I've seen her hurt when she... talks about..." she pauses. "...her lost cat." she says. There. Perfect cover.

"...but not as enraged as she was. So like... I kinda... forgot she had a roommate, but maybe it's kind of a good thing she hasn't been back? She tried to attack some students last time I saw her." Also obliterated a bus stop like it was made of balsa wood, but that part's harder to share. "So if she came back you might be in danger yourself."

Makoto Kino has posed:
"I'm not worried about that." Makoto says it way too readily, the confidence of someone who either has absolutely no idea about anything supernatural or else is in it up to their eyeballs. "Is she in trouble? Or, like--"

Here she hesitates, clearly wavering over how much to say. "The last time she texted me," Mako finally says, "she was saying some kind of scary things about going to see her girlfriend. Kind-of girlfriend. Lost cat?" It's possible Makoto is really bad at this. "If she's that angry, then it could be really bad for both of them."

Niji Dasshu has posed:
Niji has to respect that confidence. It reminds her of someone she likes a lot. (it's Niji).

"Honestly? I think she's in trouble and out of her own control. I don't think she wants to act the way she's acting. But... it doesn't change the fact that right now she's acting this way." she admits.

"I think she... saw that girl. I think they got into a fight, and if Rainbowfist-san didn't lose the fight I do not want to see the other girl." she says. "I... found her by following a trail of blood. And she was not exactly in the going-to-see-a-doctor mood when she ran off on us." she admits.

"I haven't seen either of them since to know who got the worst end of it or what happened. That's why I was here you know, hoping to see her."

Makoto Kino has posed:
After taking in Niji's full explanation, Makoto is quiet for a short space. She draws in a deep breath and blows it out again in an audible sigh that ruffles her already-mussed bangs. "Okay," she says, in a tone that means 'things are not okay.'

"I'm sorry I don't know anything helpful to tell you," she adds after another moment, once she's pulled her thoughts together. "I'm glad you came, though. At least now I know. I don't... think she plans on coming back here any time soon, but... if she does, I'll keep what you said in mind." A beat, and then a thought seems to occur to her and she starts rummaging for her phone. "Do you want to trade numbers? In case she does come back. Oh, and--" She hesitates again. "What about... her partner? service animal? Was he with her? He hasn't been back either, and I don't think he'd be okay on his own."

Mental note, make Swiftwind a little 'service animal' vest?

Niji Dasshu has posed:
Niji knows that Okay, and she winces, but it's the way she feels too. "Yeah... let's trade numbers. Sorry we didn't meet under better circumstances." she says to the taller girl. Well, taller if you didn't count Niji's mop of rainbow-colored hair anyways. "If you see her text me and if I see her I'll text you? I dunno how... close you are, but I figure roommate, live together, it's probably at least a little? And maybe more people to pull her back is good." Then she looks at the girl. "Plus you kind of have the look and attitude like you can handle yourself, I bet?" she asks.

"...No, she didn't have any animals with her." she says. "No cats or horses or anything else." She says, a bit carefully. The horses part might sound weird if you didn't know the situation. And she doesn't know what Makoto knows. "She was very on-her-own and acting like she wanted to be on her own regardless of anyone else." Niji warns. "Sorry I couldn't be here with like... good news."

Makoto Kino has posed:
Makoto nods slowly, chewing all this over. "It's not your fault," she says. "And yeah, you don't need to worry about me. If I see her, I'll let you know." Once she's fished out her cell phone, she takes a little time to swap contact info with Niji and get the other girl saved in her phone's address book. "I still don't really know Adora-chan as well as I'd like to, but if she's in trouble, I definitely want to help. I just hope Swiftwind is okay... maybe he found someone else to hide out with, since he didn't come back here."

Niji Dasshu has posed:
She pauses. "Swiftwind, huh." she says. And then she peers a little closer at Makoto. "So... you know that the lost cat I was talking about is a who?" she asks. "Or does she have like... a different swiftwind." she continues, after a moment.

"I guess if I ask if you know that Catra is a like, almost six-foot tall cat-lady you can just call me crazy if that makes no sense to you." she says. "But if it does then you'll know what I mean when I say Adora-san looked like she got in a fight with her and it didn't go well."

Makoto Kino has posed:
Makoto just kind of nods at Niji's cautious question, like that's a string of words that makes complete sense. "Girlfriend, kind of girlfriend, lost cat," she confirms. "I haven't met her, but Adora-chan talks about her a lot... and since we're sounding crazy, Swiftwind is a little flying horse." She measures the approximate scale in the air with her hands: plushie sized. "I don't think he'd be okay with Adora going off the rails, but... wherever he is, he hasn't come back to the room since Adora-chan went missing."

Niji Dasshu has posed:
"I've met her. She is... quite literally a nearly six foot tall cat lady with quick reflexes and really, really sharp claws. She's got a human disguise but..." she says, blinking as she looks around. Thankfully there's nobody else in the hall or with open doors to hear her talking like this. "Adora could probably stand to give her some space." Niji says, honestly. "She gave Adora some nasty scars and that was before she got in a fight with us." she says.

"And Adora had serious bad, new claw marks last time I saw her. And she looked like she was... not rational. Since we're talking tiny flying horses and cat ladies, I can say I think Adora got into whatever they're feeding like... Sunbreaker. You know, the bad energy they like to pack. She was acting like... feral." she tries to explain.

Makoto Kino has posed:
Makoto is nodding along again. "I kind of figured it was something like that, from what you said before. "There are a few people who might be able to help undo it, but... we'd have to figure out where she is first." She tucks her phone away again, before bringing up her hand to rub at the back of her neck. "Anyway... thanks, Niji-chan. For coming to look for her, and for letting me know what's going on. I'll owe you one, once we know Adora-chan's back to normal."

Niji Dasshu has posed:
"If you know about her and Catra and Swiftwind you're probably pretty cool, so hopefully not the last time we talk, ne?" she says with a big smile. "Anyways while I'm worried, I've also never met anybody quite as tough as Adora, so... I'm gonna try to find her again, now that I know she's not here. She needs help, but I'm pretty sure she'll last till she gets it. She's stubborn." she says with a smile. "Thanks... Kino-san, right?" she says. "At least now I know if she comes home I'll prolly know." she adds. "Later."

Makoto Kino has posed:
"See you later, definitely," Mako replies, managing an answering smile. "And good luck!"

She waits until Niji is on her way again, waving as the rainbow-haired girl heads off. Then she's pulling her phone back out as she steps back into the dorm room and closes the door behind her. She's got some texts to send.
