Takuto Tsunashi It's Thursday after kendo practice, it's cold and rainy, they're at WcDonald's, and Takuto's waiting for their order number to come up or Wako to get there, whichever happens first. He slow-motion leans heavily on Sugata then lightens up, which is something he tends to do to remind Sugata of his affection before bringing up something serious.

"Hey you don't, you know, you don't have to be honest about your feelings in public. Right? You can just be cordial? Like you were on the island. Because it was a small community. And we're in a small community again. So-- if you mean it when you say I'd yell at you for not being honest if you were being nice to people you don't like, I, uh, wouldn't."

He finally takes a breath.
Sugata Shindo It's Thursday after kendo practice, the sessions had been worthwhile and even a touch interesting, with some of their weaker members finally dedicating themselves enough that they were enjoyable to get a light practice in against, and their order has been a reasonable size, now that Sugata's been to WcDonald's more than once.

Takuto is rarely subtle with Sugata (or Wako), and he's got a series of regular habits, including the reinforcement of affections, and so Sugata does not quite ''tense'', but he's certainly fixing a more intense gaze on Takuto even before he opens his mouth.

And he listens. Considers. Evaluates.

"I'm aware," he says, finally, and it's not so much that he's blanking his expressions, as he's considering his words and thoughts, "It wasn't because the island was a small community, but I understand what you're getting at."

And he leans into Takuto, brief, for a moment, "Is this because you want me to be nicer, or because I'm indirectly putting responsibility on you when I'm less-than-cordial?"
Takuto Tsunashi The question makes Takuto's brow furrow a little, his own tiny frown of consideration indicating his processing of the question and its layers and what it means, and what it means in light of what Sugata just corrected his assumption about--

"The second," Takuto says decisively, and he tucks his chin a little and looks at leaning-Sugata sidelong, smiling a tiny bit. "I like you the way you are now better. But I don't want you telling me it's my fault for wanting you to be honest that you're an ass to people."
Sugata Shindo A moment of consideration, and then, "Fair enough. It's not as though it's your fault, in any real way... and if it upsets you to tease that way, it's not worth it."

It isn't, and that's all it ever was, the implication that any of it was because Takuto was asking for honesty. "I'm an ass because that's who ''I'' am, when I'm not the Shindo on Southern Cross Island."

And he could tone it down, really, but he doesn't want to. The people he wants to spend time with him, do, and the things he says are never honest, and only sometimes chosen to hurt. More than anything, he's just being the person that's always lived under the dual titles of Sugata Shindo and Samekh's Driver.
Takuto Tsunashi The tiny smile turns into a grin, and Takuto slings his arm through Sugata's. "Thank you. Do you mind that we smack you for it when you're egregiously rude?"
Sugata Shindo "No, it's honestly almost as funny as ''being'' rude in the first place," Sugata admits, and leans ever so slightly more against Takuto. "If I'm being too much of an ass, Wako-chan could always bubble me."
Takuto Tsunashi Sugata is rewarded with Takuto having to stifle literal giggles for a second at the mental image. "Just--!" he starts, and then laughs, hugging Sugata's arm closer in turn. Such affection in public! Between tall bishounen no less!

"Just imagine, you doing something really outrageously mean, Wako-chan just bubbling you right there in front of Godoka and everybody."

Their food is ready, and with regret, Takuto unthreads his arm from Sugata's so they can go pick it up.
Sugata Shindo There is so much affection happening in this WcDonald's, playing out with the two of them leaning against each other, waiting for their number to be called on this cold, rainy day, and Sugata laughs too, less giggling and more Carefully Restraint Chuckles. (He's got an image!)

"You know she would. I wouldn't even be able to be mad at her about, I'd have to have ''really'' pushed her buttons."

And then their number is called, and while they haven't gotten an outrageously large amount of food, they've gotten enough for the three of them (and Wako's second stomach), so they both need both hands.
