Molly Skyline The moment is almost at hand. The moment when Seriss ''wins''.

Also Mistress 9 and Pharaoh 90. Of course.

The loss of her constructs was costly. She put a great deal of her own strength into them, and losing them had weakened her -- not that she was going to admit that, of course. Not even to herself. Afterall, she still had the Magus Rods, the Secondary Linker Core, and of course a magical artillery piece currently dangling from her earlobe in the form of Cygnus Lich. Previous (and lackluster) identity erased, of course.

Not to mention the annoying twerp Molly Skyline was gone. Properly, this time.

The dark sorceress lounged in an otherwise empty conference room, sitting in the chair at the head of the table with a very impressive view of the nighttime Tokyo skyline going completely ignored. Instead, her focus was on a shimmering, dark jewel held in hand as she turned it over, examining it from all angles. The Gloom Zirconium, that had cost her so much to make... but.

Well.

Who can truly put a price on victory?
Mochi     The creature that inhabited the body of Doctor Souchi Tomoe, and still even answered to the name - well, its feet slithered as much as walked across the floor, distinctly unnaturally now. The disguise had been blown and now he kept the current body out of... perhaps fondness, perhaps because occasionally he still had to appear in public for boardroom nonsense.

"Can you sense it now, Seriss Nyx?" his voice cracked through the room. "The impending hour of victory. The time when we can shed these forms... when we can shed this ridiculous corporate visage... when our Master will overtake this world, this dimension!" he says, throwing his arms out dramatically. "So very close, even with some minor setbacks... we're nearly there... aren't we?"
Molly Skyline "Oh ''yes''."

Seriss' answer is immediate, and laden with satisfaction. She doesn't immediately look up; the Gloom Zirconium holds her attention a little longer, but finally she sets it down on the conference table and swings her chair around to face Dr. Tomoe. Not to get up out of it, of course.

"Setbacks are to be expected. Once you accept them, you can plan for them. When you plan for them..." She gestures towards the stone. "Then you can achieve what you need to. The annoying friends of the girl who's body is now mine have proven themselves worthy adversaries, but not worthy ''enough'', and that will be proven in a few days."

She stretches, and clasps her hands behind her head. "I suppose I will miss this body, I have only ''just'' gotten rid of its former inhabitant. It ''does'' have potential. But, I suppose..." she smiles, flashing her teeth, "I might look strange if I'm the only one bothering with such trivialities. But. For the moment, focus must be retained. We haven't won ''yet''. It wouldn't do to get overconfident and sloppy at this stage."
Mochi     "Very very good. And I will look forward to celebrating your success and the defeat of our pathetic enemies."

And speaking of setbacks - planning for them - and success... and not being sloppy... You have a plan in mind for the pathetic girl who used to call this body Father?" he asks, before cracking into a small bout of manic laughter.

"She has awoken to her dangerous form - one of the few things that could, in the most limited of circumstances, possibly pose a threat to our Master. And if he is to come through, that threat... that chance... it needs to be zero." he says. "Not staticstically zero. Absolutely zero. His grandness is too unique to risk."
Molly Skyline "I do have a plan. There are some setbacks we can't afford, of course."

Yes, losing Pharaoh 90 would be somewhat more than a setback, it would be catastrophic. A pity the girl had awoken Saturn, but... well, that was a mistake made by others, and certainly not Seriss' fault. But it had become her responsibility, and the girl had evaded her once.

That would not happen twice. She'd learned from that encounter.

"I believe this will do the trick," she explains, brimming with confidence as she pushes on the Gloom Zirconium, sending it sliding across the table to stop within Dr. Tomoe's reach -- apparently so confident in its construction that she believes it not to require any further explaination. It certainly took enough energy to create it, after all, nearly bankrupting everything Seriss had collected that she hadn't already spend on her monolith creations, now rather conspicuous in their absense.

"I have command of the Magus Rods, the Power Regulator is installed in Cygnus Lich -- along with the defense module that the Korma Girl was foolish enough to turn over to me. I am ready for this battle. I need a couple more days to make final preparations."
Mochi     "It wouldn't be a setback. We do everything for Pharoah 90's glory. Not for our own Glory. I hope you're not forgetting that, Seriss Nyx." the creature within Dr. Tomoe says, somewhat accusingly.

But then his eyes are drawn to the Gloom Zirconium and he inspects it - visually not with his hands - and makes an approving noise. "I see. So you have planned. That's good. With all of the resources you've expended on this venture... I hope you do understand the trust we've placed in you to spearhead this most momentous act." he says.

"Of course, our trust has paid rewards, but we have reinvested those rewards. There's a lot of eggs in your basket. It would bode poorly for all of us were you to drop them. So do see you continue your march towards success."

"Do you require any assistance for these final preparations?"
Molly Skyline "Of course. For the Master's glory; I would not forget such a thing."

And she wouldn't -- though advancing her own position has never not been part of the equation, even if it was always unspoken.

Seriss reaches over the table, to reclaim the Zirconium that Dr. Tomoe is loath not to touch; just as well, Seriss muses to herself. She designed it for Hotaru, but it's entirely... possible, that it might go off on contact with Hotaru's father. She didn't exactly build any kind of safety into it, and it isn't particularly discriminating. That particular accident would be most unfortunate. Explainable, but unfortunate.

"I have everything I need. I have been made powerful, both by the resources invested in me and by my own efforts. I will destroy the fools who try to stop us, and then we shall finally grasp victory." She smiles, tilting her head to look back out the window.

"And then our enemies will know... 'setbacks'."
Mochi     Truthfully every servant of Pharoah90 wanted to be seen as the most valuable - and at the same time each extolled thier master as a weapon to try to prevent others from rising above them. What Tomoe - Germatoid - was doing was no different here. But he also wanted to see Seriss succeed - he could take credit, in a sense.

"I cannot express to you how much I'm looking forward to reading your report of success." Tomoe says. "I think this world will be much better soon. Once our Master appears and is able to take control of it... and it can be reshaped to be more proper." he says, twisting his head in a full 360, his skin stretching as he does so. "These bodies can be so uncomfortable." he says as the rest of his body twists to right it. "They move in improper ways."

"Go forth and bring us the world we deserve, Seriss Nyx, and prove yourself one of the greatest of Pharoah 90's servants!" he says, dramatically, before breaking out into another spree of unhinged, manic laughter.
