| Yuyami Kagayaki | Yuyami Kagayaki, a recent transfer from another school on the other side of Tokyo, was working her way through the winding corridors of Radiant Heart Academy's massive, multi level library. "It's so much bigger than my old school's library - and so much better stocked..." she remarked to herself, as she piled a book labeled 'advanced thermodynamics' on top of a stack of books in her hand. "There, all of these should hold me till he comes back!" she says from behind the frankly towering pile of books - it's taller than her head. "Now... to get to... a desk..." she says, unsteady on her feet as she walks down the aisle. A few moments later and a shift in the gravity of the books has her tilting to one side then the other. She staggers, but manages to catch herself, and then as she's backing up to further right herself, she smacks into someone from behind - and then gravity wins and the small girl and almost an identical additional weight of books come down on the back of someone, along with her loud yell of surprise. Loud books thud to the floor around them, and the girl is profusely apologizing as she scrambles to her feet and before she adjusts her slightly lopsided rectangular glasses."OhnoI'msosorryit'smyfaultsorrysorrysorry" |
| Hinoiri Kirara | Hinoiri Kirara had been actually going through some old history books, looking through old myths, trying to find... something related to the jar. She hadn't had much luck yet, but soon she'd be talking to other magical girls and well... She was trying to find what she could. She'd been getting up, nose burried in a book, when someone ran into her. She let out a startled shriek when someone bumped into her, almost drowning her in books. She tried to cover her face, before chuckling once they finished falling. She offered a hand to help the girl up, then... knelt down to help scoop the books up. "Easy there, it's fine. Accidents happen. Though, you might want to grab a cart for this many. Or maybe a car," Hinoiri said, as she placed them on the table. "I haven't seen you around, are you new here? Or do you just pop out every... oh... five years or so, judging by how many books there are, to replenish your light reading?" she joked. "Hinoiri Kirara, grade 11." |
| Yuyami Kagayaki | "I'msosorry." she still stammered out again, even as the older girl seemed so... kind. She softened further as the girl started to help her. "Wait, you're not gonna... oh. Oh thank you. If this had happened back at Kessho Private I'd end up... well.. they wouldn't be helping me pick up." she says, laughing nervously. "Yeah, I'm new... this library it's so... there's just so many BOOKS!" she says, her eyes sparkling. "And they're so advanced in the upper floors, not like my old school." she says. "Oh I guess that... that answers your questions, yeah. I just transferred here... because of my grades, getting perfect scores here should be more of a challenge, I hope!" she says, and it's clear in her eyes that's a challenge she relishes. "My sempai is helping me get set up. But he had to deal with something so... I'm catching up on a little light reading." she says, even as she puts a book on the table that reads 'advanced organic chemistry' on the stack with other books (including a somewhat out of place copy of Sun Tzu's Art Of War). "Oh, I'm Yuyami Kagayaki. Grade Nine." |
| Hinoiri Kirara | "Eh... heh heh, well... a year or two ago, I probably wouldn't have helped pick up, either," Hinoiri admitted grudgingly. "But I wasn't exactly my best self then. I've been trying to do better. Besides, we all make mistakes, right?" "And yeah, they got a lot here. Should have seen my last school, some of the sections were so wild and jumbled the librarians needed to tie ropes to make sure they didn't get lost on the way in, looking for stuff," she joked. "It... probably will be, but don't let it get you down. Back home I was top of my school. Here? Just... high grades. There's... more to life than always being top of the class," Hinoiri said. With a *great* deal of difficulty. It may have caused her just... a smidge of pain. And that smile was... hard. "... I'm getting there." "Huh? Yuyami Kagayaki?" And paused. Froze. And her head just... you could almost *hear* the click. Click. click. Of her head turning towards her. "Wut. Yu. Ya. Mi. Kagayaki?" she asked. "As in *Sora's* new student? What in the world are YOU doing here?" she asked, grabbing her arm in *way* too tight a grip before looking around. "Of course, the hair should have tipped me off. Ugh. Looks just like yours. What are you doing here? Is this about Kirakirafantastica? Are--" And then paused. "And... you... have... no... idea what I am talking about," Hinoiri said, slowly letting her arm go. "Oh... Then... Yu...yami... huh..." she asked. Narrowing her eyes. "Huh." |
| Yuyami Kagayaki | "Oh there's so much more than being the top of the class, I've only seen that recently. There's so much more to learn, to know, than are in schoolbooks. But still, what they teach at school has value. Every new bit of knowledge leads to more and more. All of the knowledge we're able to get is built on the knowledge others leave behind, in books and lore." she says, smiling. And then scrunching back, a little sigh. "Oh, I'm doing that again. Sorry." she got in b before Sunset fully turned over her name. "I... am afraid I don't have any idea what you're talking about." she says, confused obviously. "I don't know anyone named Sora. My previous school was lead by Principal Cinch." she notes. "This hair... shouldn't look like anyones but mine. Do you know someone who has hair just like mine?" she asks, a little more confusedlyt. The purple streak was kind of new, it had taken effect only once she realized what magic was. "I'm sorry, I don't know what you're talking about.... but you're hurting my arm..." she whimpers a bit before she's let go. "Is this some sort of joke... or like... advanced bullying?" she asks, rubbing her arm. |
| Hinoiri Kirara | Hinoiri Kirara eye twitched a little when the girl agreed with her. But you know what? She could do this. She could be more than just top of the class these days. She could BE. STRONG. She could endure this. However, the comment on advanced bullying made her pull back. "What? No! I don't bully anymore. I'm done with that! Well, except Emi a bit, but she needs it. And, I mean, it's only for the right reasons, and to help protect her, but that's, wait, no, that's not what I mean, that's-- Err, no, ugh--" Hinoiri pinched the bridge of her nose, frustration mounting. "No. I'm not bullying you, I'm... you just... err... you just have... sorry. I know a... Yuyami. From... back home. With disturbingly similiar hair." She took a deep breath and tried to bury that aggression she felt towards the girl. Top of her class, huh? This girl was, what... Grade 9? Two grades below her? Not like she'd... "Listen, you'll be fine. The people here? They're cool. Nobody is going to cause you any trouble. And I'm *not* going to bully you or like... try and crush you in class or anything. That'd be ridiculous. Honest, heh... Not... even thinking it," Hinoiri said. ... As she tried to resist thinking about it. |
| Yuyami Kagayaki | "Anymore? Except those who deserve it?" Yuyami asks, shirking away a bit... before it;s clear to her that Hinoiri is... trying to not be bad, and that must be worth something. She'd be less worried if she wasn't on Campus, she knew just moving to the Dusk Zone was a lot harder here. "Did you... bully the Yuyami you knew back home?" she couldn't help but ask. And then Hinoiri says some words that pull a different side of Yuyami out, a more confident side. "Oh, I'm not worried about you trying to crush me in class. Nobody can. I wouldn't even still be in school if not for the way Japan works. In most countries they'd let me move on to college early. I'm taking correspondance courses, or at least I was." she admits. Then she blushes and coughs. "Sorry, that's more information than you needed. Just I mean I'm only worried about people not like... classes." |
| Hinoiri Kirara | Hinoiri Kirara cringed, shaking her head. "N-no. I mean, yes. But... no. Not like that. I mean... not deserve. Needs it. Emi needs it so-- wait. That sounds wrong. She's... I'm not going to bully anybody anymore. Okay? At all. No stuffing in lockers, none of that. Honest. And no, I didn't even meet the Yuyami until I went back home and found out she replaced--" And then stopped. She then stopped herself. Only to have the kid challenge her. And a hand slammed down with that *force*. And that fire erupted around her. Oh no. Challenge. Mode. Activated. "Oh, Yuyami. Believe me, there's nobody I can't beat. I've never met a score I couldn't top, the maximum score is only that because it's the best that *can* be earned, not because it's the max *I* can earn," Hinoiri said. Staring at Yuyami with that burning passion that threatened to incinerate the poor girl where she stood... Only... to realize a moment later that... this kid was two years younger than her and she was... okay... getting a liiiiittle intense. "Errr... I mean... sorry. I didn't mean. Ahem. Sorry. I can get... a bit competitive. Sorry. Ignore that. Here, let's just... here." She turned to help organize her books. "Why don't we find you a cart for your books, okay?" she offered. |
| Yuyami Kagayaki | "You're... very confused by me for some reason, aren't you?" she asks. If only Riventon hadn't asked her to keep her compact at the office because it might draw attention at the school - she'll have to develop SOMETHING to see magic without it. She wonders if this girl is weird or magic. Or weird and magic. She shouldn't discount any possibilities. When the hand came down though, Yuyami startled visibly, and almost fell back in the chair she had JUST shifted to. And yet, despite that, some part of her felt compelled to rise to the challenge even if she couldn't really rise physically. She resisted it for long enough for Hinoiri to calm down, her eyes wide at the other girl. "Look, it doesn't have to be a loud slamming thing. Just someday, you and me, we should compare scores in something. Do the same test. That's all. It'd be nice to have a rival. But I do feel like I would have seen you at an academic olympiad at some point, if you were so fired up about it." she says, adjusting her glasses. "Surely, a school with a library like this must have a team." she notes. "If not, I'll start one, and we'll see who can be captain." she says with a smile that's just a little taunting. "...no, no the table is fine. I've got some time to kill and I'd really like to start reading some of these." she says, tapping the table. "I shouldn't have been trying to cart them all so far away." |
| Hinoiri Kirara | Hinoiri Kirara was INCREDIBLY confused by her. On every. Single. Level. But... she sighed after a moment. "Yeah... something like that. I guess." At the mention of Olympiad... one of the librarians nearby stopped and looked up, a horrified, thousand yard stare on her face. As if she had walked through the valley of the shadow of death of summer vacation and there had been no mercy, survivors or victors... Only the wailing of teeth and sobbing of students... "What's an Olympiad? No, wait, don't answer that, even I know that'll only lead down a dark path." Once the books were gathered, she shook her head. "I need to get to studying, anyway. Got some things I need to work on. It was nice meeting you, Yuyami. I'm over in room XXX of the dorms, if you need help with anything, hit me up. See you around." She gathered her book, before quickly heading off before she could... make... more of a flank of herself. ... Yuyami Kagayaki. HOW. IN THE WORLD. WAS THERE A. GAHHHHHH. |
