| Coco Kiumi | When Rihito first got back home, it had been a really rough time to explain to Michal where he disappeared to. Up to that point, he had tried to keep the secret of magic away from her, she has enough problems already with her health, but a weeklong absence is not the thing you can just gloss over, especially with how much he knows Michal depends on him. Telling her the truth was just as hard, and not something her sister was really willing to believe, but Coco had offered herself to come along for this moment, even if things had been only superficially amicable between her and Michal. Still, magic was no longer something the brunette could deny with a whole mermaid sitting on a chair in front of her. From then Michal had calmed down, and Rihito had been finally able to tell her about the good reputation of the hospital at Mitakihara Ward, and how she would be able to have an easier time with them, if not making progress finding a solution to her condition. The brunette had not demonstrated much confidence, but chose to go along with it anyway in front of her brother's conviction. After a trip by car, the three of them are standing in front of the reception desk, and Rihito is explaining Michal's medical history with supporting documentation, while Coco is giving the other girl a smile, one Michal responds to in kind, even if much thinner than that of the mermaid. |
| Madoka Kaname | Madoka Kaname's week long absence was... actually a bit less of a problem. It involved a couple of her Chara, Brai and Sio, trying to figure out how to send the hospital a message in a way that would get past the Veil. In the end they managed to send a text to Mitakihara General saying that she wasn't feeling well and that was basically all it took to convince the non-magical hospital staff that Madoka had no business being around. Now however, things are a bit different. Madoka Kaname is back, with Medo hovering over her shoulder holding up a checklist of tasks so that she can remind her Chara Bearer of every detail that needs to be covered. Madoka is currently wearing a mask over her face and a volunteer nurse's uniform when she and her invisible fairy happen to take a peek at the reception desk. Oh! It's Coco! Also her boyfriend, and... another younger girl is with them? Feeling curious but unsure, Madoka has a momentary internal debate regarding whether or not approaching right now would violate some kind of doctor/patient confidentiality. Sensing this Medo says, "Look, it's okay as long as ''you'' keep it a secret too, right?" Madoka starts to respond, "Yeah but--" but the moment she makes a noise she's spotted by one of the receptionists. "Oh, Kaname-san! Please stick around. We'll need to you escort this patient after we get their information." Madoka freezes up where she stands, and then says, "O-of course!" As she walks up to the trio, the receptionist senses her hesitation. "Is there a problem?" asks the girl. Madoka shakes her head and says, "Not at all! These are friends of mine. I'm just surprised to see them here." Then the pinkette waves at Coco and Rihito. "Hi~! Nice to see you again." Then she stands quietly off to the side and waits for the paperwork and similar duties to be handled. |
| Coco Kiumi | If Michal needed any more proof all that talk about magical girls, interdimensional trips, Panthalassa, fairies and the fact Obsidian Corporation is actually a gathering of villains threatening people, then the Chara floating next to Madoka could only seal the deal on that and her and Rihito both being Panthalassa. Which brought a ton of questions about their parents Rihito and Coco both only had very limited answers too. Still more than before the trip, since the other Gaito was able to confirm Rihito's ascendance. "Hello, Madoka-chan!", Coco goes for a hug with the pinkette, and then steps back to give Medo a cookie in lieu of one. "It's so good to see you again! How have your exams been?", she smiles at her friend. Rihito bows at Madoka, and then gives her and Medo a friendly look. "Nice to meet you too, Madoka-san. This is my sister Michal. Michal, this is Kaname Madoka. She volunteers here at the Mitakihara Hospital." The brunette bows too, but her eyes are fixed on Medo, peering at her with obvious incredulity, and her mouth slightly open with uncertain thoughts pushing to stay in and get out both. She looks between the two of them multiple times, fixating on the extreme similarity between guardian and bearer. "Hello, Kaname-san. I am Michal Amagi. Are you too a..." she breathes out quietly, and lets her words fade away. "It all seems so surreal still", she continues, taking her eyes away from the small fairy. "Let's talk more in a room", Coco interrupts with a smile at Michal, who looks taken aback at being stopped. They really should have explained to wait until they are alone for this, that even with the Veil's protection, some things are more troublesome than not. ... Did they ever explain the Veil to that actually? "Yes, I have finished here", Rihito confirms calmly, turning to the nearby elevator. "It's room 317", he adds, taking Michal's hand to her content expression, and taking Coco's hand as well to a decidedly less happy one from the brunette. Once the doors close, he looks at the map on the wall. "It should be midway through the corridor", Rihito considers. |
| Madoka Kaname | Madoka happily shares a hug with Coco, because she always does, before politely bowing to Rihito. Medo happily accepts the offered cookie with a "Thank you!" before munching it down on the spot. After dabbing off her lips, the nurse fairy notices Rihito and Michal looking at her and then waves her tiny hands at both of them. As they exchange greetings it becomes clear to Madoka that they are stepping around a Veil-related issue, and she understands the unspoken question that doesn't quite escape Michal's lips. With a bright smile, Madoka nods but doesn't elaborate. Coco is right, they should wait until they're in a room. "Room 317? I know the way," volunteers Madoka, joining them in the elevator while Medo follows after. The pinkette explains "It's not that far. Third floor, just around the corner. You'll see it when we get there." Medo meanwhile is watching Michal, noticing some of her body language, wondering to herself if there is perhaps some sisterly possessiveness there. She keeps her questions to herself, but the tiny fairy does wonder. Madoka, meanwhile, keeps talking a bit after they're in the elevator. She turns to Michal and asks, "Is this your first time here, Agami-san? I don't think I've ever seen you before, but it's a big hospital." Once they hit the appropriate floor, Madoka gladly guides the group to the designated room, making sure that they don't get lost along the way. |
| Coco Kiumi | The door of the lift slides open with a small thunk, contrasted by a tranquil silence on the way to the room. Coco turns down the handle and keeps it open for everyone, shutting it once they are all inside. "This should be safe", the blonde tells the group, placing a hand on the wall, and following it up with her ear. If they can't hear other guests and visitors, then those same people can't hear them. "Thank you very much", Rihito bows with his upper body again to the pinkette, occasionally trying a look of the walls when they pass through any of them there and only means breaking the monotony of the walk. "It's beautiful, isn't that right, Michal?", Rihito tells her. Her tone is as lacking in fetters as her brother's, and for her answer, she gives a turn to a normal Door, wondering out loud. "So similar people come here. Are you sure it is enjoyable here?", she asks Rihito for confirmation again, brow furrowed in sensitivity. The interior doesn't show a lot that would have convinced Michal, but there is a big billboard now, filled only by the vague contours of past shapes. "I am sure Michal. If it gets too much, tell me", Rihito invites her warmly. "And you can rely on me too, Michal-san", Coco intervenes with a smile. "Excellent guide, Madoka-chan", the blonde turns and tells her, complimenting her brightly. Michal nods and adds. "I agree, thank you Kaname-san", she echoes the sentiment quietly and looks at Rihito with a silent request, and her brother pushes the chair closer. "How is it? Tired?", he falls into habit completely. "I am fine, thank you", Michal smiles, brushing her sleeves over her forehead. "What should we be doing?", Michal asks Madoka, and a small nod occurs for the pinkette's question. "I have been accepted in a few hospital, but not as big as this one." A pause, and the withheld question is released. "Are you a magical girl too?" |
| Madoka Kaname | Madoka and Medo take a moment to straighten out the room after they enter. Nothing about it is particularly out of place, but the pinkette wants to make sure that everything is just right and also that things are where they're supposed to be. While Madoka overhears the conversation between brother and sister, she chimes in to try and be reassuring. "This is one of the most upscale hospitals in Tokyo. They have high standards for their staff and doctors, so you can be sure that any care you receive here will be the best around." She then turns to Michal with a wink and says, "That's right! I'm a magical girl. Specifically, I'm a Chara Bearer, and this is one of my Guardian Chara, Medo. She represents one of my childhood dreams. The fact that she joins me when I volunteer at the hospital isn't a coincidence." Eventually she takes a modern blood pressure monitor out of a drawer and walks up to Michal. It's one of the electronic ones that wrap around your wrist. "So... There are a couple of things I'll need to do before the doctor comes in to look at you. First of all, I'm going to need to take your blood pressure and heart rate. If you don't mind?" Assuming that there are no objections, she takes the readings and calls them out to Medo, who writes them down on her tiny clipboard. "Also, just for our records, we would also like to record your weight, if you'll come to the scale?" And if Michal goes along with that, then Medo will record those numbers too. Eventually after the vitals are read, Madoka copies the notes that Medo makes onto a more normal sized clipboard while continuing to chat. "So, what kinds of symptoms have you been experiencing? Any recent developments or new complaints?" Really, this kind of work isn't what she'd have done two years ago, but she's been in so many medical incidents in the past two years that the hospital staff basically pressured her into getting some real training, so here she is. |
| Coco Kiumi | Michal goes along with ease to all of Madoka's questions, completely used to that aspect of hospitals, though she could say she has never had tests run by a girl her age. That much was new, but not very noteworthy when you get down to it. Especially not when you compare it to her having much and there being an actual fairy floating around her. "That sounds like an amazing thing", she tells Madoka, an indecipherable emotion in her voice. "What is it like? Is it anything like Great Valorous Mahou or Sailor V?", she asks Madoka, squeezing the titles out of a half-forgotten corner of her mind, one dedicated to memories she doesn't really want to bring back up, when she wanted to be a magical warrior fighting for truth and justice too. And now, not only were they real, not only did she have one in front of her, but she apparently could be one too, due to being that weird Panthalassa thing. She smiles briefly at the wink, relaxing at Madoka's friendliness. "Your power really comes from your dream? That sounds lovely, Kaname-san. And you wanted to be a nurse for all this time?", she reacts with levity to the information. She starts imagining Madoka change instantly in a nurse outfit similar to Medo's, and chasing away some brute troubling pets or a local school with literal sparkles? "Can I form one too? How did you manage with Medo?", she continues her line of thinking. Rihito doesn't comment on the levity in Michel's tone, standing a bit further back, watching the scene satisfied. He knows about this interest and how much it mattered to her, and he starts thinking deeply. Good thing he didn't toss them away. "Can you do any magic you want?", she asks before the chat soon turns sour and with it her expression. "Headache, dizziness, pain. I can never find out a reason then and now too, the next pack is in place. "Are you something like a mermaid too?", she asks, thought that makes Coco smile softly, but she lets Madoka answer. |
| Madoka Kaname | Madoka and Medo take the necessary measurements and notes. Writing them down. Normally at this point she'd run off to fetch the doctor, but answering patient questions and making sure they feel comfortable is also a part of her duties. Besides, there's no reason why she wouldn't answer those questions to a curious friend of Coco's. "I don't know about the Great Valorous Mahou, but Sailor V is actually based on a real person, and she's friends with Sailor Moon. There are a wide variety of mahoujin around, and they get their magic from all kinds of sources. Coco gets hers from her pearl, Rihito and Gaito from their lineage, me from my Guardian Chara... some get their magic from their link to the planets, others from curses, and some from magical devices that originate from another universe. A few friends of mine got magic by making a contract with a certain untrustworthy white fairy, but... well I'm sure Coco can warn you all about him." She's not sure how much she should really put on Michal's mind right now, so she leaves it up to Rihito and Coco to fill in the details on Kyubey. Instead, Madoka reaches over to fingerpet Medo's hair. "I do want to be a nurse, but more specifically I think I wanted to help people. A lot of my fairies look like magical girls because ''I'' really wanted to be a magical girl. That said, it's really not as simple. Nearly all children have dreams, but not all of them become Chara Bearers, and it's not exactly clear ''how'' your source of magic is determined. For me..." Madoka reaches up to touch her left arm. Her wound and ache there is long gone, since she's been healed many time since that day, but she still wanted to ''remember'' that day. "For me... what happened was I followed some magical girls into a dangerous situation, without the power to protect myself. Coco was there actually, and she kept me safe. Things went really bad, and it pushed me to the point of ''needing'' power but not being able to have it. Something awoke inside me that day, and a short while after that I got my first Chara Eggs." With a soft smile, Madoka says, "I don't recommend going by that route, though. I think your brother would be very distressed if you put yourself in that kind of danger." As for what kind of magic she can do, Madoka shrugs, "It's not as simple as me being able to do whatever I want, but one of my Guardian Chara is ''especially'' powerful. Strong enough to sometimes perform miracles, but... that's not something I can call upon whenever I want. A lot of magic is mysterious specifically because it defies human understanding, and my ability to perform a miracle depends upon things outside of my control and ability to predict." Is she something like a mermaid, too? Madoka considers how to answer that, but she shakes her head. "I'm just a normal girl from Mitakihara. I don't have any special lineage like that, though I do think my mom is amazing." The symptoms are also written down and noted. Madoka frowns slightly. How odd. "Well, our doctors and nurses here are pretty good. I hope they can figure something out that will help, but..." Her eyes dart towards Rihito as she asks, "Um... is there any kind of family history regarding this illness? That you know of?" |
| Coco Kiumi | "You know ''Sailor V''", Michal's voice rises as she looks at Madoka with her mouth open. "So is she actually real? What is she like? Is the manga actually accurate?" She probably shouldn't be so surprised that a magical girl is real, but she has been used to thinking of her as fiction for so long... She is about to ask if that works for Great Valorous Mahou too, when a name distracts her. "Gaito?" Michal repeats with raised eyebrows, looking at Rihito. It had only been a few hours since she had started getting the debrief on magic, but she wasn't aware there were more like them. "Is he one of us?", she continues, to a blur of nervousness on Coco's face, who is thinking what trouble it would be if she wanted to find him by any means necessary. "What is it?", she focuses on the blonde girl, squinting at the reaction. "Nothing, nothing, she raises her hand defensively. "He is a Panthalassa, but he is not really around. A lot happened", she explains to Michal, hoping she would choose to leave it at that. The brunette seems to hold onto those words in her mind, and then speaks up. "This is not what we came for. But Rihito, you can tell me later, right?" Rihito's head turns in a snap at being addressed and nods. The only Gaito he has ever really gotten to know was the one in the alternative timeline, but at least he had what Coco told him. "Yes, I will tell you all I know", he assures his sister, looking apologetically to Coco, who shakes her head as she picks up on his worries. "We have a lot of names to go through. Both of you have yet to hear about KiraKiraFantastica", she grins and turns to Madoka with a conspiratorial gaze. Michal does a double take at the name. "That can't be a real place", she looks doubtful at her. "It probably is. You remember how Great Valorous Mahou was, right?", Rihito points out, which makes Michal settle into a conceding silence. "We will probably hear all about it later", the boy adds. "It's hard to say anything about our family history because our mother died giving birth to Michal, and my father was quite cagey about her before he went and got himself lost on one of his expeditions around 6 years ago", Rihito explains to Madoka. "Coco and I looked around the house, and all we know is that we think we got our Panthalassa side from our mother." Michal freezes slightly at that, but takes a deep breath, and focuses on the pinkette, trying to ignore both that and the beginning of a headache. "I guess ``my brother and I`` are going to look more into our family tree together, Kaname-san", Michal remarks. "Does this tell you anything in the meantime?" |
| Madoka Kaname | The pop regarding Sailor V from Michal makes Madoka giggle. Medo says, "Well I don't think we've spent a lot of time getting to know her as a person, but... she's always been pretty dependable when trouble happens." Madoka cups her hand around her mouth as if she's sharing a secret and says, "I hear she's a bit boy crazy. Absolutely a flirt." The reaction to Gaito's name makes Madoka feel a bit guilty. She had, for a moment, forgotten about this world's Gaito and his fate. For a moment she was only thinking about the Gaito from the other world. Did Riventon actually kill Gaito? She doesn't want to think so, but she also doesn't think there's any chance of befriending him, and... Hm, honestly, that's not a topic she has any business telling Michal about in detail. She'll leave it to Coco and Rihito to decide what to tell her about him. "I can verify that KiraKiraFantastica is absolutely a real place. One of our magical friends is from there, though she's um..." How does Madoka put this kindly? "... she's very driven and enthusiastic. You'll understand if you meet her." Hm. So the family history is unknown. Madoka writes that down. "Well, I'm not the doctor, so I'm not really qualified to draw any conclusions. However, it helps to know such things. If the problem is hereditary, then that narrows down the possibilities." She glances between Coco, Rihito and Michal. Medo chimes in, "It's fine if you don't know. They'll do their best to figure it out, I'm sure." |
| Coco Kiumi | "They really did depict her as she us", Michal tells Madoka at her megaphone play. "It's actually a bit comforting, that she is actually the person I got to know", Michal tells Madoka. "I had a phase where I really admired her, and it would feel disappointing if the story got her wrong." "Can you blame her? What else can you do when you are single and there are so many handsome boys around?", Coco laughs at Madoka's secretive behaviour. "Besides, you might actually fall in love on the way", she smiles, intertwining her smile with Rihito's and giving him a telling look, prompting an amused smile from him. "I can't argue with the results, and I don't want to", he quips back. "Let's leave any more flirting to when we are not in a hospital though", Rihito replies to Coco's happy smile. "Yes, I think that this is not the place for it", Michal replies frigidly. Coco looks at her, really starting to wonder what's up with Michal. Does she think she is a bad girlfriend for Rihito? Or is that worry? She will probably have to get through to her somehow. Her feelings are sincere, and she doesn't have to worry about her. "Thank you very much for your help, Kaname-san. I hope that this time will be the good one, I am really thankful", she bows at Madoka. |
| Madoka Kaname | Madoka glances between Rihito and Coco with a smile that's somewhere between goofy and amused. It's cute to see the two lovebirds get along, and it kindof reminds her of her own little love connection with Homura. So adorable. ... Oh, but Michal doesn't like it. Huh. Does she see Coco as a threat? Is this something like... without their parents, Michal sees Rihito as a father figure, and Coco as the new mom? Whatever it is, Madoka is certain that her feelings are complicated. Well, whatever the story is, Madoka only wishes everyone involved the best. She's sure they can figure it all out. The pinkette smiles brightly at Michal and says, "Thank you for your cooperation. I'll go tell the doctor you're ready." Medo rests on Madoka's shoulder and looks over her version of the paperwork. The nurse fairy's fussy nature means that she wants to be extra certain all the details are right. Fortunately, it seems like Madoka did in fact copy everything down with care, so she raises no objections. "Well, I wish you the best of luck." says Madoka with all the cheerfulness in the world. For a moment, she thinks to mention something, but she decides to keep it to herself for the moment. Best to let natural medicine run its course, rather than try to figure things out via medical means. Instead she says, "She'll be with you shortly!" before walking out of the room and closing the door behind her. |
