| Souta Camero | It's the day after Souta landed on planet Earth, met a version of Chrono who was a little bit older (and taller) than he was used to, and was told that he was likely to spend the rest of his life here. Oh, and a Lost Logia tried to kill him, but honestly that's a Tuesday for a TSAB agent. He and his body length blonde hair wake up on the sectional couch in the Entertainment Room of the Casa del Outers, having been invited by Uranus to stay for a bit so he could get back on his feet. He's in a set of deep red and dark grey pajamas and his golden hair is splayed out over him like a blanket. This is in addition to the actual blanket he had. As his green eyes blink open, he props himself up with one hand to wipe the sleep from his eyes, then blearily looks around the room as he slowly takes in the fact that yesterdays events were not, in fact, some kind of weird dream. He reaches out to find his (surprisingly durable) glasses and puts them on before scooting off the pushed-together sectional that makes up his bed. Now standing, he scratches the back of his neck as he looks around the room. |
| Setsuna Meiou | When one is intimately connected to the concept of Time, there come certain consequences and/or benefits. In Setsuna's case, one of them is an intimate and intrinsic knowledge of what time it is no matter where or even when she is. It also means that, along with a little mental trick she picked up many, many years ago, the Senshi of Time is able to wake up at precisely whatever time she wants. Well, for certain values of 'wake', that is. For, as those who live with her can attest, Setsuna is very very much NOT a morning person. In fact, it's been said that before she secures her morning dose of caffeine, she's more bear than woman. Still, the moment designated strikes on the clock, and Setsuna grumbles her way out of bed, down the hall, down the stairs, and towards the kitchen. There's an ongoing debate as to whether she's actually awake while she makes this trek. So far, nobody's really been willing to test it. Though it HAS been noted that her timing on the trip is so precise that one could likely set their watch by it. Thus, looking through the doorway into the kitchen and down the hallway on the other side, Souta gets to see Morning!Setsuna shuffle around the corner, eyes apparently closed. She's in what passes for 'bombing around the house' wear for her...generally a hugely oversized t-shirt of some kind large enough to double as a knee-length dress. Today it's a black t-shirt with a round blue logo. Inside said logo is a large blue box with the word 'POLICE CALL BOX', and in a circle around it are the words: 'Gallifreyan Institute of Technology' and a banner across the bottom which reads: 'Vicis est volatilis. Sic exsisto volex of pes.' As soon as she enters the kitche, she turns slightly towards the corner around to the left of the doorway Souta looks through, shuffles expertly around the large island in the middle of the kitchen, then out of view. After a moment, however, the sounds of what appears to be a HORRENDOUSLY expeensive coffee machine can be heard...and the distinct smell of brewing coffee fills the room. A few moments later, Setsuna shuffles back into view, sits down at the kitchen island and starts drinking her coffee. ...apparently at no point have her eyes actually opened. |
| Souta Camero | Souta has travelled a lot in his career, never really staying on one ship for very long. He has seen a lot of different morning routines, in so far as he they can be called 'routine', but the strange green-haired woman who shuffles blindly around the house is new to him. He does notice the ''punctuality'' of the event, for his Device is already synced to Earth's local time. Paradise Spectrum took care of that almost immediately after Souta's safety had been secured yesterday. Not knowing the particulars of Setsuna's powerset, he assumes simply that she has some kind of alarm or a well-trained internal clock. Not far from Souta's own personal solution of relying upon his Intelligent Device to wake him. Souta mumbles something resembling 'good morning' as he notices Setsuna, moments before she vanishes around the corner. Anything else he could have said is cut off by the sounds of a coffee machine. Not being from around here, he has no context for how expensive or cheap a coffee machine like that is, but it smells nice. Feeling like he should make another attempt at saying something to his host, he moves over to the doorway between the entertainment room and the kitchen. His mouth opens slightly to speak, but his glasses make a telepathic note to him. < Subject's eyes are not yet open. > How... odd. Regardless, he clears his throat and says, "Good morning." |
| Setsuna Meiou | The first attempt by Souta to greet Setsuna gets missed...too quiet and too much low ambient noise in the kitchen for anything mumbled to carry. When he comes in and clears his throat and says 'Good Morning', however, the woman's eyes snap open to reveal garnet red eyes. While to some, it might seem if all she does is give Souta a long look...a trained observer will note her eyes flick slightly to look past him down the hallway to the front door, then over to see the sectional pushed together, then back to Souta and a quick noting of his state of dress in pajamas. Finally, she sets her mug of coffee down and reaches up to rub her eyes, "...good morning." After a deep breath and a small sigh, she shakes her head, "...please, have a seat...mister...?" |
| Souta Camero | Having finally caught Setsuna's attention, Souta stands in the doorway. He's being quiet, both because he's still waking up, and also because he's not the only one in 'morning mode'. When invited to have a seat, he walks over to the nearest seat-like object and settles down into it. "Souta Camero, Inspector, Time Space Administration Bureau. One of your housemates was gracious enough to invite me stay here after I woke up from my medically induced coma. According to one of my fellow TSAB operatives, I'm apparently stranded here forever." He's still... getting used to that idea. The idea that he'll never leave this planet. There are aspects to that he doesn't quite want to reflect on right now. Right now he just wants to ensure his own continued survival. "That said I'd rather not lean upon your hospitality forever. I'm looking to secure a more permanent residence." |
| Setsuna Meiou | Setsuna lets out a big yawn, then follows it up by taking a long pull of her coffee before standing up and stretching a little, "...lemme guess, tall blonde?" She then tilts her head a little, "Well, you're welcome to crash here until then, Mister Camero. Remind me a little later and I'll get you set up in one of the actual guest rooms. In the meantime, I suppose you'll be joining me for breakfast. What would you care to drink? I have coffee, tea, and fruit juice." She pauses, "...I'm afraid Agent Harlaown never told me if you have coffee or tea in TSAB space. If not, coffee is rather an acquired taste...but it's good for waking you up. Tea is similar, but ranges from less intense waking to actively encouraging sleep...and I'm certain you probably have juice." The greenhaired woman then turns and starts grabbing down a small assortment of cookware before she goes on, "...as for stranded here forever..?" She trails off and shrugs before waving a hand in a 'kinda-sorta' gesture, "...MAYBE? Apparently, our system is the relief sump for all the 'wierd' in this corner of the multiverse." The woman gives a bit of a chuckle as she heads over to the fridge, "...heh...I cannot COUNT the number of times during that first month that Agent Harlaown was on the verge of a total mental breakdown." She shakes her head and gives Souta a somewhat manic-looking grin, "...he's MUCH better now." Setsuna then covers her mouth with a hand to conceal a giggle before turning to the fridge and retrieving some ingredients, "Do you have any dietary allergies or other restrictions I need to be aware of since I'm responsible for your care and feeding for the next few days, at least?" |
| Souta Camero | "That's right," confirms Souta. "Sailor Uranus, and while coffee and tea most certainly exist where I'm from, I imagine the exact plants used have evolved a bit differently. Same for the fruits really. Either way, I'll take coffee. May as well start ''acquiring'' said tastes, and... I don't really have any allergies that I know of." His glasses ping and start speaking. < Inspector Camero is only allergic to loosening up. > "I'm not ''allergic'' I just like to keep my guard up," he protests. Then he taps the side of his glasses and says to Setsuna, "Sorry, my device likes to tease me." So... Maybe? He ''might'' be stranded here forever? It seemed like such a certainty yesterday, but... ah, this is one of those 'magic is bullshit' things so who really knows? "I'm sure I'll have my mental breakdown eventually. I try to save them until ''after'' a situation is resolved, not during. I find it a bit more practical that way." Yeah, he's not even going to pretend that this doesn't affect him. He's just being cool about it. For now, and especially in front of people he doesn't know, regardless of how generous they have been. He straightens his back and watches Setsuna for a moment. "I sincerely can't thank you enough for your hospitality. I'm still taking it all in." |
| Setsuna Meiou | At the comment about acquiring tastes, Setsuna absently reaches into one of the cabinets, retrieves a large if plain mug, then puts it in the coffee machine and hits a few buttons. After a brief bit of hissing and a tiny steam discharge, coffee comes pouring out...and soon Setsuna steps over and places said mug on the counter, "Here you go. While some people like to take theirs black...I find those people to be masochists." She points to a small pour jar filled with some crystalline substance, and to a jar just next to it full of an assortment of tiny sealed containers for liquids with words like 'original', 'hazelnut', 'vanilla', and 'irish cream' on them, "I suggest adding cream and sugar to taste." She then gives Souta a bit of an arch look, "...and Mister Camero, you appear to have forgotten an introduction. If I'm not mistaken, you have an Intelligent Device...and in this household, Intelligent Devices are people." She then goes back to the glass top and places a number of metal pans over it...and then with a press of a few buttons, all of them begin heating and she starts cooking a variety of things...namely eggs, bacon, sausage and pancakes. The comment about breakdowns gets a snort, "...ah, yes. The age-old strategy of 'Get on with your job, fall apart when it's conventient.'" She shakes her head, "A strategy that works great...right up until it very suddenly doesn't." There's a moment where she trails off, then she goes on, "...don't worry about it. Agent Harlaown has become a good friend of mine...and even if he wasn't, I'd still do whatever was in my power to help someone in your position...so take your time...get your feet under you. I've got a huge house and I don't mind sharing it when the moment calls for it." |
| Souta Camero | Souta is handed a mug and pointed towards the mixables. He decides to experiment with something called 'hazelnut' and adds a bit of sugar to it. Sugar, at least, he's familiar with. Especially considering how Lindy likes her tea. Hazelnut, well... he'll figure out what it is in a moment. With a bit of a twisted frown, he says, "Well that ''person'' could introduce herself too." < Aww, but wont you do it, Champ? > With a soft, long suffering sigh, because she's always like this, he taps the frame of his glasses and says, "Paradise Spectrum. She's been my device since I was... oh, I want to say about 5 or 6? My father made her for me to train on. Allegedly she has the same voice as my mother, a fact that she enjoys leveraging to her advantage, but I haven't been able to make a direct comparison." < A pleasure to meet you, Miss. > Setsuna's comments regarding his emotional management strategy gets a shrug from him. He's not going to pretend he's the best when it comes to psychological health advice. He only knows what works for him. "Truly, I've met nothing but kindness since coming here. Considering how much I'll have to be dealing with all the ''weirdness'', as you put it, I'm going to need every bit of it." |
| Setsuna Meiou | As Paradise spectrum introduces herself, Setsuna blinks and straightens up, going a bit still for a moment before shaking her head, "...forgive me. Here I am asking for introductions from you and I have been a poor enough host not to have introduced MYSELF." She snorts, "I blame Sailor Uranus..." before going on a mumbled voice JUST loud enough to be heard, "...mainly because she's not here to defend herself." A few quick adustments of things cooking are made, then Setsuna turns and gives a little bow, "Setsuna Meiou, at your service. Also sometimes known as 'Sailor Pluto', and according to Agent Harlaown, deputized TSAB Agent." As she speaks, she's managing the whole cooking surface...apparently she's gotten a bit of training as a short order cook somewhere...and it's only a few more moments before she's depositing a plate with a few pancakes, a few strips of bacon, a few links of sausage, and some fluffy scrambled eggs before Souta. Silverware is set before him, condiments like salt, pepper, and syrup are pointed out, then the heating surface is turned off and Setsuna sits down across from Souta, "Well, then...did you have any specific questions? I can probably answer most of them." |
| Souta Camero | Souta, who is still waking up, is in no position to criticize anyone for their lack of protocol. Though his bleariness fades as he starts to drink his coffee. Food is placed down before him, another noted act of kindness, and he expresses his gratitude with, "Thank you. This smells delicious." He's not sure what to call the meal in front of him. Two kinds of meat thing, plus some kind of bready soft thing, and some kind of egg? He picks up a fork in one hand and a pancake in the other, using the soft bread thing to push a bit of egg onto the silver trident thing. He takes a bite and... wow, it's really as good as it smells. After swallowing, he comments, "Very quickly made, too. You're pretty efficient," he says with a bit of appreciation. Any specific questions? Souta mentally goes through the list, with Paradise's telepathic help. After a moment he says, "Too many. Though I suppose I have to start somewhere. 'Where do I go from here?' would be my first question. How do I acquire lodgings of my own? Do I need to find employment? How about food? Is there a centralized place where I can go to find information?" |
| Setsuna Meiou | Setsuna smiles and nods in acknowledgement of the compliment, "Why thank you. I've put in a bit of work to become so...but that said, I'm practically a novice at short order work...and I'm not really terribly great at anything one might consider 'fancy' or 'complicated'." She snorts a little, "...fortunately, you'll likely meet a few members of the magical community who ARE adept at both." A sausage is speared, and she uses the back of her fork to point at Souta, "...as for the first three? Well, given your apparent age, it's going to be assumed that you should be in secondary schooling. Fortunately, I am part of the administration of the most prestigious of the local schools...which also happens to be a boarding school. So that's lodgings, food, and no need to be employed. It also happens to be the school that Agent Harlawon attends as well as our local Meister and several other Device mages." She then takes a few bites of her sausage, cleaning off the link and taking a few moments to let Souta process before attacking her eggs. In between bites, she adds, "...as for information...well...Radiant Heart has a fairly good library...but you'll probably do better in at least the short term by having Paradise Spectrum contact Nicomachea and get an info dump from him as information is more or less his specialty." |
| Souta Camero | With regards to anything 'fancy' or 'complicated', Souta shrugs and says, "There's beauty, also, in simplicity. Though I do... look forward to getting familiar with local cuisine." Since it will likely be what he eats '''forever'''. He wonders what a magical cook can do, considering how wild this world's magic apparently is. He considers Setsuna's answer in full before responding. A local boarding school? Oh... That must be what Rashmi meant. Right. It's coming back to him now that he's a bit more awake. "Ah yes, they told me a bit about that." He takes a sip of his coffee. Chrono's reports are probably enough to get me all the magical information I need to get started, though I'm more concerned with the other side of the Veil. I suppose I'll have to ask Rashmi and Nicomachea about that next time I see them. The library... well, I should get used to knowing where that is, considering I'll be wearing a school uniform again soon." He leans against the back of his chair and looks up at the ceiling for a moment. "I suppose I can't complain too much. I'm getting free room and board, and a chance to learn something about how this world works. It might be a bit tedious if I have to retake Calculus, but I'm sure I'll live. History might be the roughest subject for me, since I'll be starting from square one." He leans forward again, and starts back on his food before saying, "Then again... investigation and education aren't that different from one another. It's all about gathering the relevant information in the end." |
| Setsuna Meiou | Finished with her breakfast, Setsuna takes to policing up the dishes and putting them in the dishwasher, "Well, feel free to take the next day or two off...and during that, I'll get your information entered so that we can get you some identification so that the local government thinks you exist, then we can get you moved in over at the school." The mention of Rashmi by name gets her to nod, "...and in point of fact, Rashmi-chan is probably the best resource you have right now. She'll be able to show you around the library, Nicomachea is her Device and should have all the data dumps you needs...and she's also the Meister I spoke about, so she can give Paradise Spectrum a look over to make sure everything is going well with her." Setsuna then leans up against the counter, "...in the meantime, as soon as you're done with breakfast, I can get you set up in a room here for a few nights and you can get cleaned up. I've got some stuff in about your size that you can wear while we wash your clothes...and I'll get you set up with a bit of money to buy some clothes with." |
| Souta Camero | A day or two off, and in the meantime Setsuna here will forge the necessary documents? Apparently this is just how things are done here, though he supposes that it can't be helped. He considers what the other members of the TSAB would have to say about it, though in all honesty there's probably a useful protocol that addresses this exact thing. Earth is not the first non-magical (or pre-magical?) society that the TSAB has run across, and they can't always announce themselves openly. "In that case, we'll entrust our fate to your kindness. As for clothes, I tend to let Paradise Spectrum hold onto my wardrobe for me, though I imagine my sense of fashion would be a bit unusual for this world. I suppose 'shopping' is something else I'll have to look forward to." He's eating a bit slower than Setsuna, but not that much so. There's a lot to process, and it's slowing him down. He does, however, note where she puts the dishes and, when his plate is clean, he goes to follow suit. No reason not to at least ''try'' to be a good guest. "You're doing a lot for someone you've just barely met. You must allow me to repay you at some point." |
| Setsuna Meiou | Setsuna waves a hand a bit dismissivelt, "...eh, it's no real problem for me...given that I predate the concept of 'money' means that basically nothing is a financial burden for me...and on top of that, I'm helping out one of my friend's countrymen." She takes the dishes and shows him how to load them into the dishwasher, then starts leading him towards the rooms in the back of the house, "...as for repayment?" She shrugs a little, "...just take care of yourself and do the things that I'm quite certain you'd do anyway as a TSAB Agent, and we'll call it even." |
| Souta Camero | This woman predates the concept of money? Even just accounting for Earth, that's... quite a claim. One that Paradise Spectrum seems to back up, given Chrono's reports. Souta's eyes go wide and his face contorts in a way that is probably the first real ''strong'' emotion he's allowed himself to show all day. "I... didn't realize I stood in the presence of an immortal." He notes and follows the instructions, trusting her guidance, as he follows her deeper into the house. "Ah, well, if all you need me to do is help out the local magical community, then yes. I have to admit I'd be doing that anyways." |
| Setsuna Meiou | Setsuna snorts, "I don't know if I'm 'immortal', precisely...but yeah, I've been around a long while and seen a few things." She leads the young man down a hall that is apparently one of the outer walls of the structure, given the windows, then past a set of stairs to a perpendicular hallway. Once the two are standing in the hallway at the end, she turns to look down it, "...alright, the three rooms on the right side of the hall are all converted over to to be various workrooms. The first two are Michiru's and the one down at the end is my little workshop and library...if you need to find me and I'm not in the kitchen or entertainment room, that's probably where you'll find me." She then waves at the two rooms on the left side of the hall, "As I recall, both of those are free to use. Each of them's set up the same, a bed, some furniture, and an attatched bath." She takes a small step back and points to a door under the stair, "Through that door is the utility room where the clothes washers are. After you clean up, I'll show you how to use them while you're here...the ones in the dorms should be generally similar, so it'll be good to learn how to use them now." |
| Souta Camero | Even if not immortal, probably very long lived, from Souta's estimation of how long Earth civilization has been around. "I imagine you have." As the rooms and their purpose are spelled out to him, Souta notes each of them in turn, and Paradise Spectrum adds the details to his internal murderboard. "Of course. I'll look forward to your helpful instruction." If anything, being taught how stuff works is something he can latch onto. Besides, no one grows out hair as long and voluminous as Souta's without being at least a little bit vain about it, so anything involving grooming or self-maintenance holds a certain amount of interest to him in of itself. "Either room will do? Then I suppose I'll pick this one for the time being." He gestures towards the free room nearest to the kitchen, if for no other reason than it was the first one he came across. "As for getting washed up, I suppose now's a good time as any, unless there's another pressing matter I should be attending to?" |
| Setsuna Meiou | Setsuna shakes her head, "Not really. It's a day off, so I don't have to be to work. Go get cleaned up and I'll see you when you're done." |
| Souta Camero | "Then," says Souta, with a grateful smile. "I'll be on my way. Thank you so much. I'll see you in a little bit." With a polite bow, he heads into the room and shuts the door behind him. |
