Hinoiri Kirara Hinoiri Kirara had ended up showing up to a small little get together hosted by the school. A movie night, get a bunch of kids together, send them to a theatre, get picked up, easy peasy. Make friends for a lifetime or whatever. Hinoiri didn't really... get it. But she was still trying to understand the whole...

Friendship and sparkle life energy thing. So she was willing to give it a try. She'd driven on her bike to the location, of course, because why take the school's offered transit when she had her own that was faster and more efficient?

Because 'social' aspects and all that. She was still learning...
Amy Faust     Poor Hinoiri. The first time around, Amanda ''also'' assumed that the point of high school was education rather than socialization -- although perhaps, it is moreso education here than it was in early 2000's America.

So she's on the bus with the others, just trying to enjoy a Normal Student Activity for once. Will she get through this outing without any monster attacks? It remains to be seen!

She's still kind of figuring out how to act, though, or rather, sometimes she doubts herself and quietly listens to the others.

Once they're off the bus, though, Amy is ''happy'' to see another familiar face. "Hinoiri!" She runs up to hug her. "Woah, so you got your motorcycle license and everything? That's pretty cool, how do you like it?"
Hinote Kagari Hinote Kagari is here now, arriving with the other students on the school provided transit. He steps off and he looks over at Hinoiri who is parking a vehicle. Maybe he outta cheat his own like that too.... no way. His mom would KILL him if she found out. Tracy, the tiny detective chara is sideeyeing Hinoiri. "I hope she's behaving..." says Tracy. "We don't want any trouble tonight.". Hinote sighs. "She's ''here'' at a social event. Being social. Don't you go causing issues for her tonight either, Tracy.." he says silently, sideying the chara.

He'll approach Hinoiri and Amy and says. "Nice bike." says Hinote. "...where did you get a motorcycle?" asks Tracy suspiciously.

Hinote rolls his eyes and sighs.
Princess of Sarek Movie night await, potentially of the spooky variety, and Veronica has indeed taken the bus like most of everyone. She didn't really have a preference for going by other methods of transportation anyway, and she liked just watching the streets pass by, making a game of noticing of small details here and there. Or that's what she is doing when not meeting anybody she knows. Amy and her must have missed each other. Possibly taken a different bus, while well, her and Hinote have never met outside of henshin.

"Amy-san, Hinoiri-san", Veronica acknowledges the other two girls with a smile. "How is it going? Got any special occurrence lately?" A curious look is reserved to Hinote with the detective fairy in full showing, rather intrigued by someone like that being here. She is a thief, a noble thief, but a thief nonetheless. "Pleasure to meet you. Veronica Perenna", she extends her hand to Hinote.
Hinoiri Kirara Hinoiri Kirara blinked as she was suddenly hugged! Ack! She gave a little squeak. In retrospect? She... probably should have expected that. She was liked, somewhat, now. She had friends. People cared about her. Signs of affection were normal and acceptable and it felt nice so she didn't need to search for a ulterior motive.

"Huh? Uhhhh. Yeah, like... for months now. Did you not know? Weren't you one of the girls there when I like... tried to drain the city on a dark energy motorcycle? Did... you think I was operating something like that without a license? That's incredibly reckless and unsafe."

... Yeah. She was only reckless and unsafe in every other way.

Her eyes then narrowed on Tracy. "I bought it. It was one of my first big purchases here, so stay away from it. It's not chara-proof and I'm out of tiny helmets."

"So, I take it you're all here for the big movie night? Anyone have any preference, anything they've been dying to see?"
Amy Faust     "Uhhhhhhh..." Dark energy motorcycle? "OH RIGHT--" the fight that started on the highway and where she figured out how to summon a giant rocket and a giant cannon. "--I remember now! Right, yes, for some reason when you talked about getting a license I'd... forgotten. Like I thought you were taking Driver's Ed, I guess?" She scratches her head, looking embarassed for forgetting that. "Well how ''do'' you like it though? I haven't driven in ages, and I never tried a motorcycle... although I guess they wouldn't even have bicycles on your world..."

"Veronica!" Amy smiles as she's called out to, giving her a hug as well, and giving Hinote a pleasant nod. "Hinote, goodta seeya!"

Special occurance? "Aqua Regina, the Queen of the Mermaids, gave me a pearl, and I'm interning-- well no, I guess it'll be an actual job? doing IT for the Pearl Pier Hotel." She smiles, seeming proud of that, then looks thoughtful. "So I guess... any future civilian me will at least have a resume..."

A preference? "Uhhh..." Amy looks thoughtful. "I haven't really paid attention to movies this year. Like for anime there's been Dungeon Meshi and Frieren, and the Ranma reboot coming up but I already watched the leak... uhh... ''movies'', lately I've been watching old horror movies with Taro but he always offers two for me to pick from to watch, so I guess I haven't really thought about it."

She turns to look for the movie posters on the side of the theater. "What's come out lately? Anything that sounds good? What do ''you'' wanna see?" she asks Hinoiri, :I don't think we've ever gotten to talk about ''your'' tastes in media."
Hinote Kagari Hinote Kagari is wondering if bringing Tracy along was a good idea. Tracy takes a note. bike is bought? Well okay then. He bets it was with DIRTY OBSIDIAN MONEY! He'll find out later. Since Hinote seems to be radiating annoyance now that can be felt by Tracy.

Hinote shakes off, while shaking a hand. "Oh. Hello. Veronica. I'm Hinote Kagari." he says with a smile. Since she doesn't address the fairy directly he's assuming she can't see Tracy. Tracy is however, staying away from the motorcycle. He can always investigate more later.

Nevermind the whole discussion about dark energy motorcycles. Hinote is trying to let the past be the past. Tracy is taking more notes in a tiny notepad.

"Oh we should see the thrilling mystery adventure "The Dark Man Whispers." says Tracy. Hinote rolls his eyes. His fricken life is a thrilling mystery adventure at the moment. Can't he take a break?

"What's about this one about talking animals?" he asks.
Princess of Sarek "You are truly a patron of all that is safe, Hinoiri-san", Veronica teases her with a pleased air about it. "Good job on the yearbook. Really liked how it turned out." Veronica gives her a break. Besides it had been a while since she'd heard about that project. The most involvement she's had with Hinoiri as of late was 'borrowing' her old magical identity. How would that conversation go, if Hinoiri were to find out?, she questions in her mind curious.

She exhales air as soon as she got hugged by Amy, hugging her back right after. "It hasn't been long since the Orochi", Veronica remarks casually at her enthusiasm. "Great to see you again. And you are being employed by mermaids, now. That's quite the carreer bump. How did that happen?", she gleams with interest.

She separates from the group briefly to look at the movie posters when their interests are being looked into. "Hmm, this one. The Pendulum of Antimatter sounds interesting. It's about reimagining Dalì as a space explorer. I doesn't take itself as seriously as the title suggests though. It's actually fairly whimsical, if the reviews are anything to go by."
Hinoiri Kirara Hinoiri Kirara gave a small shrug. "I'm a part of the motorcycle club, but they're not really a driver's ed thing. Honestly? I love riding a motorcycle. It feels... amazing. Like I'm free, reminds me of galloping back home. And no, we had bicycles. Why wouldn't we?" Hinoiri asked.

Tracy was correct, the bike was bought with DIRTY OBSIDIAN MONEY!

"Ehhhh, a mystery or the slasher seems good. Not a big fan of the talking animal genre. They tend to realllllly get it wrong. I know quite a few talking animals and almost none of them talk that way and it honestly is a bit rude sometimes."

Her cheeks went just a liiiiittle red at Veronica's teasing. "Well, okay, fair. But I follow safety protocals with my experiments unless they're in the way. Things like helmets, turn signals, they're not for me, they're for the other people out there who can't keep up and, sometimes? You just need to bring yourself to the lowest common denominator so other people don't get hurt."

"As for why I'm working for Yellow Pearl Voice? Well... I have expertise, Obsidian kept trying to kill me and it turns out people here need money for things like... parking spots for their motorcycles. Besides, it's not like many of the sparkles have much interest in studying this stuff, aside from Naru. And she's more sparkle adjacent. Well... admittedly, it's mostly the Obsidian trying to kill me thing. And stealing all my stuff. I'm taking that personally." Probably because it was personal. She, admittedly, didn't know who knew Naru sparkled and wasn't going to out her!

"Dali as a space explorer? Never heard of Dali. We could flip a coin or rock paper scissors it. I'll be honest, haven't seen a lot of movies in theatres so I'm pretty chill about what we see."
Amy Faust     The Dark Man Whispers? "What's it about?"

You're working for mermaids now! Movin' up in the world! How'd that happen? "Uhh, well I just keep helping mermaids, it turns out..."

The Pendulum of Dali? "...Is it just weird and artsy or can it stand on its own besides that?"

Riding a motorcycle feels amazing. Amy smiles, "Man... sometime I should ask if I can get one of Rashmi's flight spells just for fun... flying is really cool, but it's magically expensive for me..."

What? We had bicycles. Amy looks like she is trying to imagine a KKF pony on a bicycle. "But... how do you hold the handlebars... I guess... huh, it'd be interesting to see what they looked like. I actually find the idea of stuff like that designed for intelligent creatures with different body types really interesting! Like the whole, having a city made for people of all different sizes thing was one of the neatest parts of Zootopia... speaking of which, what was the talking animal one you mentioned?" she looks back to Hinote.
Hinote Kagari Tracy is happy to talk about the movie he wants to see. "The Dark Man Whispers is the thrilling tale of Detective Derek Lang as he hunts The Dark Man, a gangster in a city that's just too hard for the lawwwwww!" says Tracy, drawing the law out for drama. Hinote Kagari rolls his eyes, at Tracy, and then looks over to Amy. "I dunno. It's called Under an Oak Moon and seems to be about surviving a harsh winter. That kinda story. Maybe drama." he says as he looks to Hinoiri. "Oh. I guess that might be kind of offensive coming from your perspective." he says.

He looks over to Veronica, who seems unphased by all this talk , but that means literally nothing.

"Dali was a surreal artist. He's famous for a painting involving melting clocks." he says. "So I imagine the movie is going to have surreal overtones." he says with a bottom lip tap.
Princess of Sarek "Did you ditch the yearbook club then?" Veronica inquires when Hinoiri only mentions the motorcycle club. She'd assumed she was still in it, given she seemed rather dutiful about ending the project, but then again, her heart wasn't really in it from what she recalls.

"Hmm, galloping back home? Am I missing something something here?" Veronica sounds perplexed. Even with all the bizzarre happenings their lives had become, that was still a fairly unusual sentence to her. "Are you a magical racehorse?", she asks eyeing the red hair. She'd heard of a red-maned breed that would fit with the description. "Were you born in New Zealand?"

Obsidian has been trying to actually kill Hinoiri. They don't mess around, Veronica furrows her brow. That was a bit too serious for her tastes, admittedly. "They have been really doing that? I owe you an apology, Hinoiri-san." It was more a case of shared blame, but that doesn't stop from it being much more than she intended.

"It absolutely is weird and artsy and captures Dalì's surrealism really well", Veronica confirms to Amy. "It seems to have a solid plot still though, and if you are into the exploration of unusual scenarios in fiction, I think you could love it", she suggests at the mention of Zootopia's infrastructure.

She turns to Hinote. "Your fairy really is passionate about thrillers. He is quite the detective aficionado, isn't he? I think having a rock-paper-scissors bout between the three of us sounds good. Or we could flip a coin. Any of Hinoiri's options sounds good."
Hinoiri Kirara Hinoiri Kirara gave a soft sigh and shook her head. "Oh, grabbing things. So, when I took Riventon to Kirakirafantastica I spent like twenty minutes just showing him grabbing rocks. He still hates it. Hooves are magical. Deal with it. So we grip them the same way we grab everything else."

".... Huh, though. That talking animal movie doesn't sound so bad. I've heard of a few of the over the top, silly nonsensicle animal ones and they can be like... okay if I wanna turn my brain off for a bit. But one exploring actual difficulties and struggles might be interesting." ... She didn't comment on the one about the law. Poor Tracy. It was a bit too much for her, it seemed.

"Oh, no! I'm still part of the yearbook club, sorry," Hinoiri said sheepishly. "And thanks. We uhhh, worked pretty hard on them. I'll be honest, when I joined them? I was... more trying to figure out how to get more power and learn who I could destroy and it was a... whole thing," Hinoiri said sheepishly. She then blinked a few times. "O-oh. Right. I'm so used to everyone knowing that... errrr. I was Sunbreaker... and uhhh. I'm natively a unicorn, from another dimension."

".... So, ummmm. Talking animals, Space Dali, detective," Yes, she was throwing Tracy a bone there. "Or some horror thing. I'm going to go get snacks and let you work out which we see amongst yourself and since I am said to be a tad bit over competitive and don't want all of you to end up curled up and crying, I'll just stick out of that part of the talk. Be right back," she said, quickly heading off towards the snack shop!
Amy Faust     Tracy is SO ENTHUSIASTIC. Amy can't help smiling. "Y'know, I think I might have a manga reccomendation for you. Maybe look up J <-> M later." She pronounces the arrow as 'uhh... how do I say this... swap? J swap M" and writes the characters in the air with her finger to illustrate what she means.

Surviving the cold might be offensive? "Huh?" She looks between Hinote and Hinoiri, confused.

She listens, rapt, to Hinoiri describing even a tiny bit of life back home. "Wow... that's pretty cool! Wait, you can GO there?!"

She has thoughts about anbimal movies, too. "Ooh. You might want to check out a Whisker Away as an example of, um, the opposite, sort of? A girl turns into a cat."

Veronica makes Amy picture Hinoiri as an uma-musume and she bursts out laughing. "Sorry, sorry!"

Hinoiri eventially leaves them to go get snacks while they decide which movie. But...

"...They all sound like they could be good, or could be bad. None of them especially stand out to me."
Princess of Sarek "I mean, I knew you were Sunbreaker, kinda hard to miss the whole thing with the Sunset of Sora and everything, you know? Especially with me moonlighting as you", Veronica tries to lighten up the situation with that wordplay.

"But, no, a unicorn from another dimension is new to me. So, what's that like? Are there any special dynamics going on there? What are your standards of living? How do your homes look? Please try to share anything you can." By now, her curiosity has come out full force.

A girl turning into a cat... "Hmm, I wonder..." Maybe she should put up a draft later on and see what comes out of it. "I could use my powers in that direction for Halloween. I would be ditching all the sewing I have done up to now, but that sounds interesting, Amy-san."

"I am good with any movie, too", Veronica nods. "Any of them makes for an interesting day."
Hinoiri Kirara Hinoiri Kirara shook her head. "The portal back home hasn't opened in a long time, so not really. It's... kind of random when I can, anyway. And for me to go home now, I'd..." She trailed off as she remembered...

Storage shed. That wasn't the best thought, ever. Her mentor had cared that little about her in the end. And it hurt. A lot.

"Home was... home," Hinoiri mumbled. "Lots of magic, a little lower tech. we were only just getting movies and the like, but they weren't as advanced as your systems. But... in the end? It was... home. Dragons, hippogriffs, griffons, a lot... it was a lot different. Maybe I can like... show off some things from it someday. But... it's... not somewhere I can go back anymore."

"... Not a place I'm welcome, either."

She then headed off to get the snacks, not gone for too long before she came back with the snacks. Popcorn, chocolate bits, lots of little foods...

However, it was moments after she got back that something else Veronica said finally pierced her head. And she froze. And then shoved the snacks onto Amy. Before *grabbing* Veronica's shoulders *hard* and *shaking her.* "That was YOU?! YOU were the one pretending to be ME?!" she asked, the fury clear in her voice. "Do you have *any* idea how much TROUBLE you got me in?! You little sparkling--"

And then she froze, which was likely good because she was getting looks and likely looked like she was about to beat the crud out of Veronica. She took a slow, deep breath. Before pulling her hands back and letting the girl go.

"Never. Do that. Again. Okay? I'm trying to be good. To not *destroy your world*. Things like that? Make it *much* harder. Because it gets me in a *lot* of trouble and, admittedly... pisses me off. And you may have notice, I have a smidge bit of trouble with... anger. I am working on it. But those kinds of things make it a tiny bit... harder. So. Please. Don't. Ever. Do. That. *Again.*"
Amy Faust     Amy looks just as eager to learn more about what KKF is like!

But Hinoiri can't go home, and the sadness of that overtakes even Amy's disappointment that she won't get to see a magical land. "I'm sorry." Amy scratches at her chin. It's a weird situation, but... "I... hope this new life and new form are working out better for you than the old ones."

And then snacks are shoved into her arms. She does catch them, but in the process gives a startled 'aah!' at the sudden movement and flinches her upper body backward while taking a 3/4-step backward.

And then uh. Veronica is getting yelled at, and Amy does ''not'' intervene on her behalf as it sounds like she really is seriously at fault here.

"Why would you do that? Why would you pretend to be her?"

"And... Can you really turn into a cat? Oh, I guess if you can turn into a living doll, huh... Probably be hard to go trick-or-treating that way, though..."
Princess of Sarek As much as she gets Hinoiri's anger, Veronica didn't really have the intention of letting herself be beat up, so when she gets grabbed like that, she was already preparing to get out of her grip. "Yes, that was the point. To cause confusion between dark generals, or even better, infighting in Obsidian." She isn't sorry about ''that''. It helped, and it saved people.

"I understand the situation is different now, and that's why I apologised. I don't actually have the intention to look like you again. As of today. And what did you think my apology was for, really?" she asks, surprised. She would have thought even just that might have led her to understand. Or at least to ask her to elaborate if she didn't.

"Anyway, you have my word that I won't turn into Sunbreaker again", she looks at her seriously. "On less crucial subjects, your world looks interesting, and I am sorry you are not allowed back in. Losing your home must be really tough." There was sincere empathy in her tone at that.

"I didn't turn into her ''her'', that's certainly not my aim", Veronica looks at Amy. "Just Sunbreaker. I am only interested in messing with villains, not normal people. Regarding the cat thing, I don't know if I actually can go all the way, but I also don't want to. Just a few features are enough."
Hinoiri Kirara Hinoiri Kirara blinked a few times and... "I mean, a lot of people have done some pretty nasty stuff to me, or thought terrible things about me, stuff like that. I just assumed you had done that. Bad mouthed me or something," Hinoiri said with a shrug, pulling away from her and letting her go. "And... yeah. I guess that's fine. They're your enemies, you sohuld try to win by any means necessary, to help keep the world safe, right? Just... ugh. It caused me so much grief," Hinoiri grumbled.

She nodded along with the rest of it, though. "Yeah. It's... rough. I miss it sometimes. Hands... suck compared to a magic horn. But I didn't really have any family back home, no friends. Sora disowned me after... everything. So... nothing really left for me there."

".... Still... sucks.... not being able to go home again. I.... miss it sometimes... not sure if the portal will ever open again. Or what I'll do if it doesn't. So..."

"... You two pick a movie? No? Screw it... let's just..." She pulled out a coin and just flipped it a few times and... "Dali. We're going to go see Space Dali. Come on, let's go watch some clocks melt and whatever."

"... My world was amazing. If... I can ever go back, who knows? Maybe I'll offer some of you sparkles a tour or whatever. You won't get the nicest reception but... yeah. Let's go."

Regardless if they followed her, she at least headed towards it. The phantom of her home haunting over her shoulders, in some ways.
Amy Faust     "It's stuff like that that gives shapeshifters a bad rap..." Amy adds, and sighs, as if that is somehow something to have concerns about.

That said, a one-time thing done for messing with Obsidian back when Hinoiri was still Sunset, with no intent to ever do it again now that the situation has changed, sounds pretty reasonable? She thought Veronica was saying she had copied Sunbreaker *after* Hinoiri turned good.

Sucks not being able to go home. "..." Amy looks like she's considering saying something about not being able to go back to her old life either, but. Well, she mostly wouldn't ''want'' to, and unlike Hinoiri, she's able to keep in touch with online friends, at least. Although she can't talk about real life and her experience has moved so fr away from theirs now...

She nods. "Space Dali sounds fine."

"...And if they... if we ever ''did'' go, and they ''dared'' judge you? We'd stand by you. Why should we care what they think of us?"

    Beat.

As they head toward the theater, she looks at Veronica curiously, "So, like, can you grow an actual functional tail and actual ears you can move around and hear with, or...?" Amy tries to imagine what that would be like.
Princess of Sarek "Fair", Veronica nods at the explanation of Hinoiri's train of thought, stepping back when she is let go and alternating massaging her shoulders briefly for the tight grip. Her reasoning was certainly reasonable, especially with all the enemies she must have made. The brunette grimaces when Hinoiri delves further into her home and there is that feeling of longing thorought.

"Maybe it's not what you wished for, but you have a place here now, and nobody will try to kick you out of it." A second passes, as she considers the possibilities over that scenario. "Nobody that that doesn't want to face a retaliation at least."

"So far they have all felt real", Veronica smiles at Amy. "And I do intend to do things like that. I will let you know when I actually go through with it just how real they feel." Though, she will have to be careful about wandering hands trying to assess the quality of her "costume". All matter solved, she goes along with Hinoiri and Amy after the redhead lets chance choose their movie.
