| Setsuna Meiou | The infirmary at the Radiant Heart Academy is, as perhaps expected, just as swank as the rest of the school. It's a large, well-supplied room separated with some of those rolling medical divider walls. Fairly nice beds can be seen here and there through gaps, and the main area is set up like a typical waiting room/nurse's station, complete with posters giving info about various adolescent diseases/conditions/problems. One poster that catches the eye is a small, framed one that looked like it might have been made on a printer with a sheet of A4 paper. It simply reads: 'Please do not confuse your GOOGLE search with my medical degree.' At the moment, things are (as is rather often the case), fairly relaxed. In point of fact, the nurse is, as is often the case, leaning against a counter in her oversized labcoat that's practically a dress in and of itself and, oddly for a medical professional, wearing three inch heels. To pass the time, it seems that she is, as is also her habit, reading a book. Additionally, there's music playing. Just as the visitor approaches the door, there's a bit of music that, to certain people will probably be rather instantly recognizable...it starts with that electronica sound that moves across the room from one speaker to another, crescendos into a bit of orchestral backing...and then the unmistakable 'oooooWOOOOOO-OOOOOOOOOOOH' of the Doctor Who theme kicks in, marking it as the arrangment for the 11th Doctor. |
| Molly Skyline | Molly has never been to the infirmary on the Academy grounds. She's been to the hospital, sure, like when Sunbreaker recently set her on fire and left her too drained to sit up in bed, but as she passes through the doorway, it's the first time she's been *here*. So she stops just inside and looks around to get her bearings. And, this place is indeed swank, so the purplenette in her school uniform (Black skirt, white blouse and stockings) just stands around gawking for a moment; at least until she realizes that she's actually not alone. "Oh! Uhm, hello." She blushes, and ahems softly, lifting one hand to entirely fail at hiding her blush. "Sorry, just never been here," she explains. But, at least it's someone she knows who's here, that helps. "Uhm, I-- Oh! That's the themesong for Matt Smith's doctor," she observes, all traces of awkwardness banished by a sudden opportunity to be a nerd. "He's still my favorite one so far. He edges out David Tenant for me by just a little bit." Of course, she's not really here to nerd out over Doctor Who, but it's not like she's going to stop being socially awkward (at least a little bit) everywhere she goes. |
| Setsuna Meiou | As she spots Molly recognizing the piece of music, Nurse Meiou blinks and stops where she'd been absently spinning a pen through the fingers of her off hand...but when she further identifies exactly WHICH Doctor it's the theme for, she smiles, "Very good ear, Miss Skyline. Please. Enter freely and of your own will." She makes an absent twist with her off hand, and the pen disappears to be replaced by... Well, it's rather hard to describe beyond being what looks like a six inch long bar of...voidstuff. It seriously looks like the nurse is holding a hole in space. There's a few moments where she shifts it...and it gets narrower for a moment before widening up to reveal an almost glowing golden symbol that looks like the letters P and L combined hovering in the middle of the black bar...and then she uses this apparent spatial anomoly to...mark the place in her book. Said book is snapped shut (revealing art on the back of a tall, scruffy, trenchcoated man wielding a staff and a humongous revolver), then set aside as she turns her full attention on the entering student. Another absent gesture with her right hand has the music fade down to 'background' levels that are easily enough ignored for conversation to occur, "To be perfectly honest, he's my favorite Doctor as well. Generally just trying to have fun, but could be serious when he needed to be...which is an attitude I find admirable and worth emulating when possible." |
| Molly Skyline | Molly ohs, "The symbol for Pluto," she observes as the symbol of the P and L together appears on the little six inch hole in space. Well, obviously, this being Sailor Pluto afterall. "Oh, also," she just carries on, no need to dwell on sticking your foot in your mouth, "The bit where he looks the Atraxi right in the eyeball and just tells it 'Basically... run,' I knew right there he was my favorite doctor." She walks the rest of the way in, and gives her knapsack full of school materials a little tug to keep it resting nicely on her shoulder. "I'm a colossal nerd," she admits. "Dr Who, Star Trek, Star Wars, Blake's 7, Alien, the Expanse... I love 'em all." She grins, still blushing slightly but getting over it. "Thank you for inviting me in." Her eyes wander to the cover of the book, featuring the trenchcoated man with a staff and a revolver that would make Hellboy proud, but without seeing the title she's forced to admit she's not sure... Dresden, maybe? "Thing is, I uhhh... keep getting beaten up and smashed through walls and stuff, and I did recently recover from pretty major burns and being drained, so uhm. Thought maybe I oughta come by and make sure I'm actually okay, without just assuming." |
| Setsuna Meiou | As Nurse Meiou's book is set down, the title is revealed to be 'SKIN GAME' in English. She then pauses and nods, "Good eye as well...and well spotted." She then grins as Molly tells her favorite moment of Smith's intro, "Myself as well...having watched all of the series up to that point, I did so love the callback to the other doctors and the way the sequence ended with him 'stepping into' the role." She then looks from one side of the room to the other...as if checking to see if there are any other students suddenly about to overhear before she confides to Molly, "I've watched all of those, too...and I certainly enjoyed them all myself." She then straightens up as Molly expresses her reason for coming to the Infirmary, "Well, Miss Skyline, I do appreaciate your desire to have yourself checked over...and I rather DO wish more of your colleagues would do the same rather than taking the approach of '...if I ignore it enough, it'll go away.'" She sighs and rolls her eyes, "Frankly, I'm rather surprised I haven't been called on more often to run wellness checks because some people keep getting roughed up on the regular." Nurse Meiou shakes her head, then waves towards the exam area, "Please, set your things down and step this way, please." |
| Molly Skyline | Molly's eyes go all big. "You're the first person I've met outside Britain who's actually *seen* Blake's 7," she proclaims. "Some people have heard of it, nobody's actually seen it. And sure it was from the seventies and really low budget, but it was cool! The Liberator was one of the coolest ships in sci-fi." The purplenette plops her backpack down, and is about to walk away from it when she furrows her brow, then takes the jewel off her solitaire earing, touches it to the bag, and says "Store, backpack." And the backpack vanishes, as Molly puts the jewel back where it came from. "Nothing I've ever tried ignoring in the past has ever gone away," she explains, as she follows Nurse Meiou. "So... I don't feel like anything's wrong, but like I said, I've been beaten up to the point where I couldn't *stand up*, been through concrete walls, got burnt and drained, and... well I mean you saw what happened with the airplane the other day, so there's that." She tilts her head pursing her lips thoughfully. "So, why not just make check-ups mandatory? They always were back ho--" She stops. "Back in England, I mean. ...Not that England is particularly known for doing things the best way." |
| Setsuna Meiou | Nurse Meiou sighs, "Oddly enough, that would likely only attract MORE attention to those that don't need it...if only because they'd be fingered as the reason there were suddenly frequent check ups...and there are some who are of the 'I don't need no krumpin' medicine...just rub some dirt in it and it'll be foine'." For the mocking 'quote', she drops her voice down to sound a lot more rough and sort of stereotypical 'soccer hooligan'....or perhaps Warhammer Ork. With a sigh for the eternally stubborn, Nurse Meiou shakes her head before patting the exam bed, "Please hop on up here." As she waits for Molly to follow instructions, she nods at the practical use of storage spaces, "And what is your partner's name, if I might ask? While I don't have the training personally to take care of them, I know we've got a few people around who do or are studying to do so." |
| Molly Skyline | Molly giggles and shakes her head, "Yeah, well, they're welcome to get a ripped tendon and ignore it until it snaps or... I mean I dunno, I'm not a medical expert, I have no idea if what I just said can even happen. There's probably a whole bunch of things that can happen which I've never heard of. ...Like the sign said, my two minutes on Google shouldn't be confused for your medical degree." She shrugs, "I remember one of the girls I grew up with, she had herself convinced she had Diabetes, Cancer, Asthma, and... a bunch of other things that she actually didn't have." Hopping up on the exam bed is easy, and she sits, taking a moment to smooth out her skirt. "My par-- Oh!" She taps her earring lightly. "Starcrash. He's the staff I was using when we fought the airplane. Rashmi-chan has been helping me with him, he's... he was in pieces with the Arthra blew up, so he's missing a lot of stuff, but that shark-plane actually had a piece and Rashmi-chan helped me install it." She ahems softly. "Alright, she didn't so much help me install it, as installed it for me while I watched. But I can create a time-space barrier now and I can finally program new spells, which is pretty great." |
| Setsuna Meiou | Nurse Meiou goes through the basic motions of giving a 'checkup' examination. Taking pulse, temperature, checking reflex reaction...the standard stuff. Though these days pulse is checked by clipping a little sensor to one finger for a few moments while temperature is taken by shooting a laser at the patient's head. The reflex check still involves a little rubber mallet to the knees, however...so SOME of the old standbys are still applicable. Various questions about known allergies and other things to add to a medical history are asked as well. Basically standard stuff. In between, however, Nurse Meiou occasionally interposes more speecific questions...such as, "And is Starcrash an Intelligent Device or a Storage Device?" Having hung around with Chrono and Rashmi both, she's aware of the difference, "...and it's good that you're to a point where you can expand your repetoire. Learning new things is rather key to success when fighting the various nasties out there." |
| Molly Skyline | Molly does pretty well, for a consumate nerd, even at the reflex test. Actually, she does extremely well at anything involving reaction times, as it turns out. "Starcrash? He's an Intelligent Device," she explains. "He's pretty focused on offense. Up until we got that module from the plane, I could only ever make the most basic possible shield and nothing else, so it's nice that I can make something a bit more versatile now. I don't think I'll ever make shields the way Rashmi-chan or Chrono-kun do though, they're..." She trails off, about to say 'so much better'. "Their focus is different," she says instead. "But I can dish out a lot of damage if I can just stick around on the battlefield long enough to get it done." Molly does not, as it turns out, have any real known allergies. None to medications, anyway, so she can have Penicillin just fine. Peabnuts are safe. ...She's not a huge fan of social studies class, though, as it turns out. "There seems to be a lot of 'various nasties,'" she muses. "Inside of the last month I've fought everything from a really short person and an arrogant boy, to a vending machine to a warplane with a big mouth." |
| Setsuna Meiou | Before long, the exam is over. Nothing of note means a fairly straightforward process, after all. Nurse Meiou snorts a bit at the comments on what Molly has fought, "If we went through all the wierd stuff I've either seen or heard about, we'd be here for at LEAST the next few days...though I DO have to say that the DUMBEST one I've ever heard of were a bunch of succulents that drained people's energy AFTER you watered them." When Molly clarifies that her Device is an Intelligent Device, Nurse Meiou smiles, "Well then, It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Starcrash. I do hope you and Molly work together well..." She hrms and taps her lips as the other young woman describes what she's best at, "Ah...if I recall, the proper term, you'd therefore have been a bit of a 'glass cannon'." She pauses, then raises a hand to cover a giggle, "...rather like a Welsh Longbowman...though FAR more intelligible." |
| Molly Skyline | "I... what?" Molly's eyebrow quirks upwards. "I've be in absolutely no danger from that one, I don't water plants. They just die around me." The purplenette snorts, and shakes her head. "At least the vending machine turned out to be a story worth telling. ...The Youman Sunbreaker made before she got defeated, well, I defeated it with one quarter-strength barret, so that was kind of embarassing." Molly is patient while everything is being checked, and even talking about a few places that hurt more while she was healing up after a fight, but nothing really seems to be amiss as it turns out. "Glass Cannon, yeah... I mean I prefer Artillery Mage, but either works." She smirks, trying not to find the comment about the Welsh funny, but it's... it's funny, so she just laughs. "And yeah... don't worry, I won't bust out the Gaelic." Molly clasps her hands over her legs, and watches Setsuna work. "So... I get any broken bones or anything, bruises that won't go away, I'll come back, right? I don't want to wind up losing any limbs or anything. I like having everything I started with." |
| Setsuna Meiou | Nurse Meiou nods, "Those are pretty much the exact things, though if you come see me soon after any injuries I can do a few things to speed you along." She pauses for a moment, then smiles, "...yes, well, I don't anticipate much of anyone being able to properly pronounce Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch anytime soon." Exam done, the nurse waves generally back towards the main part of the room as she retrieves something from a jar in the corner. She walks back over and hands Molly a full-sized SNICKERS bar...one obviously imported, as all the labels are in English, "Well, as stated, you're in good enough health. Do try to stay that way if atall possible...and if something happens to change that...come see me soonest." |
| Molly Skyline | Molly's eyes pop, both at the pronounciation of that one Welsh town that she's not even going to attempt, even as a native to that island, and at the sight of a Snickers with an English label. "...Okay, is there anything you *can't* do?" she asks, with a certain amount of awe. "You speak Gaelic, you can fly a helicopter, you fight basically anything that's got a bee up it's behind and you can even get a Snickers from England. ...Or at least from the States, which might be closer, I guess." The purplenette hops off the bed, and stretches her arms up over her head and then out to her sides. "Yeah, if I get hurt I'll come see you," she agrees, "As long as I'm not dead. I'll try really hard to avoid that one, I hear that's a little more permanent." She shrugs, "Admittedly I'm sorta bad at knowing when to back down, but I'm getting smarter about it." Molly flashes a grin, "Thank you very much for giving me a check-over. It's good to actually know I'm in good shape, rather than just assuming everything's fine." |
| Setsuna Meiou | Nurse Meiou smiles at Molly's gushing over what she can do, then waves a hand dismissively, "To be fair, Miss Skyline, I only learned how to PRONOUNCE Gaelic...SPEAKING it is a bit more complicated. Also, I'm both fixed AND rotor-wing rated as far as piloting goes...and the candy bar IS from the States." She leans over and asides like she's letting in on a secret, "...I've got a connection down in Yokosuka who gets me stuff from there and I get him various sweets and treats from here in Tokyo." As she walks back over to the counter to pick up her book, the greenhaired woman pauses as if remembering something, then with a snap of her fingers, she turns, "OH! Were you still interested in doing that tabletop game you asked me about when we took that trip to Nagoya a few months ago? Because if so, I can help do up costumes for people if they think it'll help them get into the mood." She winks, "Sewing's a bit of a hobby of mine." |
| Molly Skyline | "Man, that's fortunate," Molly observers. "I brought some Turkish Delight in for Rashmi-chan and I refuse to tell her how much of my allowance I had to spend on it, but I'd do it again." She very probably will do it again. "And, I can fly in my Barrier Jacket, but being in a helicopter is just... it was very cool, getting to hang out with friends and watch the sights together, and I'm still grateful that you brought me along." Molly retrieves her backpack from Starcrash's storage space while she's thinking about it -- a student walking around school without her backpack would be super weird -- and slings it back over her shoulder in what is by now a very practiced motion. "Oh, you mean the RIFTS game? Oh definitely, very definitely. I can GM too, but if someone else would rather -- I dunno if I'm that good at GMing honestly but I'll give it a try -- I'd... yeah like I said I'd be a Glitter Boy. ...Girl." She shrugs. "I've always played stuff like sorceresses in D&D, seems like it's time to be spam in a can with a big gun." Molly sidles towards the exit, but doesn't depart just yet. "If there's anything I can do to help with making costumes, let me know? I'd be happy to be your gopher and fetch anything you need from shops or whatever while you're busy making stuff, so you don't have to slow down. And I'm fast! Even if I can't drive... *yet*." |
| Setsuna Meiou | Nurse Meiou giggles and waves a hand dismissively again, "Oh, don't worry about that. Just send me a pic of what you want done and I'll be happy to make it. I've got plenty of supplies." She hrms, then with a twist of her wrist, a cell phone appears in her hand and she starts swiping through a few things...then turns the phone out to show Molly, "I love doing costuming. Stuff like this is just fun." And the pic is a selfie of Setsuna wearing a complicated costume that involves a black duster with lots of little armored plates here and there over some kind of arrangement of a black and white crop top and white skirt with red leggings. Strangely, she's also wearing a belt that appears to be one solid ring of metal...and there's a very conspicuous golden crystanthemum in the center as well as some headdress arrangement that also seems to be mostly metal going around the sides of her head with two larger pointy bits protruding back and to either side. And a sufficiently geeky eye will note that the background of said selfie is the iconic Tokyo Big Site...probably best known as the place that hosts Comic Market...and the crowds in the background certainly suggest that was when and where the pic was taken. Nurse Meiou then goes on, "...and as you can see, I've got no problems with doing stuff that's complicated." |
| Molly Skyline | Molly's eyes pop once again. "Oh wow, that must've taken you forever to put all that together. ...But I guess if it's your hobby it doesn't matter if it takes forever, so long as you enjoyed doing it all the way from start to finish, right?" She shrugs her shoulders, "Mom and Mom said that if I do well in my next set of courses they'll buy me a car and start teaching me how to work on 'em -- well my Mom who owns a shop will, my other Mom will keep doing Ramen -- and I'm pretty sure once I get there, that won't feel like work to me at all 'cause it's what I want to do." She pauses, and ahems softly. "Well, that and drive 'em really really fast, and they know that so I'm pretty sure I won't be ending up in like... a Hyundai or something." Molly grins a dorky grin. "But anyway, I'll figure something out. I don't think you can sew a Glitter Boy but I can come up with a suitable post-apocalyptic look I'm pretty sure!" |
| Setsuna Meiou | Nurse Meiou vanishes her phone again, then says, "Well, you know where to find me. Let me know when you want to arrange the game and what kind of costume you'd like and I'll throw something together. Otherwise, have fun...and when you DO get a car...if you're planning on using it to go fast, I've got a friend I can introduce you to who can give you pointers." |
| Molly Skyline | Molly nods her head enthusiastically, "Oh, I definitely will. Ford v Ferrari is definitely my favorite movie right now. ...I tried getting into The Fast and the Furious, but past like... the one in Brazil, they just keep getting more and more boring honestly, it's just so over the top it's... eh. But Tokyo Drift was good." The teenager tugs on the strap of her backpack, "But! I'll get outta your hair for now. I'll definitely send you pictures though and we'll get a game started! Thanks again for checking out my health, too!" And with that, the Purplenette makes her exit! |
