Scene #1624: At the crack of dawn

Coco Kiumi	It has just been two days since Coco reacquired the use of her magic and consequently the ability to use a human form. Having been brought back to school by Setsuna the previous day after staying the night there one last time (and binging several episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation with Setsuna), the past two days were spent texting everyone she knew in the immediate aftermath of the fight to make sure they were doing well and meeting up with those closest to her (mostly everyone who had visited her at the Casa, but Usagi and Mamoru were also part of this group). What has followed is at least a tentative change in the mermaid's habits towards physical activity. While previously she mostly took advantage of the evening for any such activities (mostly because she was out swimming and since people were going ''towards'' their home, she had many hours without being disturbed), today she is an early riser, waking up to the cold morning air and wearing an amber tracksuit to go on a run. Her plan is going towards the Yumegahama Ward with a steady pace and then back, going back to her dorm room in time to prepare for school. While she expected to be doing this alone given the early hour, Yuuto is a dedicated track athlete, so it is only natural he would show up at about the same time in the mostly empty campus. What would follow next then if not the two of them joining up for their morning jog?
Yuuto Shiraishi	During the sun's fall, Yuuto had been helping in the streets, battling the Star-Bears that Hinoiri had unleashed on Tokyo to keep the heroes at bay while she soaked up power. It had been a tiring fight and while he was lightly injured, he rested well after learning that Coco had recovered and had her magic back. There was chats the next day as life started to return to normal and Yuuto's focus turned to school. As a member of the Track and Field team, Yuuto is used to early morning runs. Dressed in a pair of sweats emblozened with the Radiant Heart logo, he had been up early - he wanted to get in the work early so that he could spend some time with Coco. As he steps out to stretch and get ready for his run, he notices a figure approaching him. It takes a second, but when he recognizes her long blonde hair as belonging to his fiancee, he moves to face her. Jogging up to her, he greets her with a warm and firm hug, lifting her off the ground even with his excitement. "Good morning, Coco!" he offers affectionately, setting her down with a kiss. "I was just about to do my morning run... are you doing the same?" he asks. "We could run together."
Coco Kiumi	Coco turns around when Yuuto jogs up to her, happily waving at him and laughing she is picked up, taking advantage of the closeness to deliver a kiss on the tip of his nose. "Good morning, Yuuto!", Coco smiles when she reciprocates his greeting, getting to hug right after that. "I am still so glad that we all got to emerge out of that unscathed. I had faith that everyone would be able to solve it", she says to Yuuto. "I am nor surprised that Hinoiri was using those bears, she had been making use of them ever since our first encounter. There was this big inky bear first and after that she had converted the Ursa Maior into a youma. I hope my Live Stages didn't give you much problems when dealing with them", Coco checks, still feeling a bit apprehensive over the part her powers had played. "Yes, I am going to do just that, staying so still in that bathtub was so tiring. At least for a while I am definitely going to increase the amount of physical activity I do beyond the evening. And frankly it's perfect that we met, let's jog together!", she enthusiastically invites him.
Yuuto Shiraishi	"I'm so used to working ''with'' your stage, it was strange fighting against it. But I was able to hose them down." Yuuto responds with a grin, eyes crossing as she kisses his nose and when she steps back, he joins her at her side, taking off his jacket to tie around his waist. He's wearing that compression shirt that Coco teased him about when they were first dating as he does one last stretch. "That's a great idea. I'll try to keep up." he teases her, a play on how fast she goes with things, including their relationship. But he's never going to complain about that. Once she's ready, he gestures for her to lead so he can join at her side. "Honestly, ever since the transformation, I've been practicing my running. I was worried that maybe something would have changed - but if anything, it seems my lung capacity has increased and I'm more durable... which makes me wonder if I should keep competing competively." he admits to her. "But I'll think on that later." As they jog, he considers her and decides to ask. "So. It's a few years off still, but seeing as I am your Consort and fiancee... what is a merfolk wedding like? I imagine a dress on a mermaid would be cumbersome?"
Coco Kiumi	"I am glad you were to able to manage", Coco replies as she starts jogging next to Yuuto. "It would certainly be a comfort for me if she wasn't able to use them at their best since they weren't hers." It was already bad enough that she was able to use them at all. "I wouldn't worry about it", Coco tries to reassure him when he mentions how becoming a merman might have changed him. "That is you now and it isn't anymore unfair that the top athletes beating the regional athletes all the time, every time. Or just like it was never unfair for me to compete against any human swimmer", she adds, separating for a second from Yuuto's side to dodge a small pool. The question of their wedding makes Coco squeeze Yuuto's hand happily for a second before going back to a jogging posture. "Well, there will be a lot of dignitaries from all over: I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Dr. Somegoro attending. He is the king of the giant squids. Unless Aqua Regina is able to be present, I would be the one officiating the ceremony as her South Pacific representative. And the dress I would wear is the one for my royal duties. I also had it at the Prom."
Yuuto Shiraishi	"She definetly can't sing as well as you." Not that he's heard Hinoiri sing, but Coco is Yuuto's favorite songstress and that's not changing for a while. He watches as she dodges the puddle and makes a mental note to go out of the way of ones he spots in the future so that she she doesn't have to. The plodding on his shoes on the pavement is a nice rhythm. "I usually have a music player when I run, but it's nice to have someone to talk to." he admits, hoping she realizes how important her company is to him. "I know what you're saying about it not being different, but besides you and I, I don't know of anyone else that can dive to depths that cold crush a submarine." he points out. "If I think it becomes clear that I have an unfair advantage, I'll drop out." That way she knows he's not giving up on his wants. "You were very pretty in the dress." Yuuto remembers that dress now that she's brought it up, and how gorgeous she was up on the stage, performing for the students, making her mark on many of them for the first time. His hand is squeezed and his cheeks warm with a blush as he glances aside to her. "I look forward to it."
Coco Kiumi	"Thank you", Coco replies genuinely fond of the compliment even if she acknowledges some level of partiality might be at play there, but she appreciates how endearing Yuuto is towards her. Were they not jogging she would have given him a hug already. Though, it's not like she can accurately assess Hinoiri's singing. The only time she heard her sing was when it was laced with dark energy, so it was inherently hurtful to her. "That does sound wonderful", Coco smiles, adding "We can catch up on the things that have been going on while I was recovering." "That's just something that comes natural to us", Coco points out, even if she doesn't expect to convince him. "I wouldn't fault any of the top athletes that probably have a better body than the rest either. And instead of dropping all together, you could simply handicap yourself somehow." But she is not going to press more than that. "I know, they did an amazing work with it", Coco says when Yuuto compliments the dress. "It will be an amazing event, just you see, I imagine all the other princesses will be there too. I am sure Sara will be back by our side too", Coco muses.
Yuuto Shiraishi	As they jog down the street, Yuuto nods and grins. "I'd love for you to catch me up. And I'll tell you about what I've been up to as well." the teen offers as he cuts a smile to the blonde when they make their way around the corner and further away from the school. "I know that it's natural to you. I'm still learning - I'll figure it out, because it's what I want." he winks at her, reminding her that he wants to be with her. And to be a merfolk. "I can only imagine what it will be like. But it will be amazing, because it will be ours." he points out to her, glancing down at the watch, checking his heart rate and such to see where he is. Everything's great. Better than great. The new physiology has given him amazing endurance and lung strength, and he's still stretching his legs, as it were. "Let me know when you want to go swimming together. I haven't tried going too deep yet - but I'm so interested in exploring, to see the ocean floor, the life there, the mysterious shipwrecks, everything, and seeing your home as we get close to it."
Coco Kiumi	"Oh, I haven't been up to much", Coco shrugs at Yuuto's line of inquiry, this time nothing of her turmoil showing up on her face. This is a friend she is protecting, so she is going to keep the secret flawlessly, no matter how bad she feels about hiding things from Yuuto. "Lots of friends came to visit, they gave gifts, we have talked, oh, and with Erika I sang for a while. We are likely going to form an idol group, her and I. And maybe Wako if she wants to be part of it." She has quite an excited look on her face now. "Back in April I was contacted by a representative of Shine PR, and they want to get onto Japan's Idol stage. They have heard of me thanks me using my singing to help fundraising, and that's how they reached out to me." "We can do that at any time", Coco nods. "I have been wanting to organise something like a pool party during my stay at Setsuna's, so we could have two parts, one with just the two of us at sea, and one with all of my friends. You could invite your friends too, I don't mind them knowing about me."
Yuuto Shiraishi	"Oh my gosh, you're gonna be an idol!" Yuuto grins, partially teashing, but he's actually excited for her. He knows how much Coco wants to share her songs with the world, and he's willing to share that with the world. "I'm sure you're going to be great at it!" he offers to her cheerfully as he nods as she goes about her friends, not catching onto any secrets that his fiancée may hold within. "A pool party? Would it be big enough? I know the house was really large, but I didn't go exploring. Just to where you were and back out again." he admits as he glances around as he guides them along the running path. "But if you need any help with organizing, I'll be happy to do so." There's a warm smile as he grins. "Do I need to get Cora a new duck yet?" he asks playfully.
Coco Kiumi	"You mean I am going to be an idol ''on land''", Coco teases back, reminding him that this is going to be her lanc debut. "But yes, this is going to be so exciting! The feeling of sharing your joy with others through a song... I will never tire of. Of course, you are going to get free tickets and a backstage pass", Coco affectionately pushes against Yuuto with her body. "I think it will be, I wanted it to be wide precisely so I could do actually good swims, and that definitely comes in handy now, wouldn't you say? Plus Cho can turn into a mermaid too, so we will be in good company", Coco informs him. The comment about getting Cora a new duck makes her giggle. "She is actually playing with it a whole lot, that's the best thing you brought for her. But there is no need, she is being careful not to break it."
