| Date of Scene: | 23 June 2025 |
| Location: | Moon Kingdom |
| Synopsis: | At the reception, Emi is beset by first Mamoru, then Masato and Ami. There is talk of the dreamscape and of Emi's ID having gotten blown to Riventon on accident. |
| Cast of Characters: | Mamoru Chiba, Emi Hoshino, Ami Mizuno, Nephrite |
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
This time in a quiet moment between people talking with them, instead of just brushing her hand with his, Mamoru leans to kiss Usagi's cheek. "We have all the time in the world, my beautiful bride," he murmurs, bent so she can hear him, "this tired groom is going to hide in a corner with the introverts a little while and see if they want cake.
And then he brings cake over for Emi and himself and invites himself to her table by sitting at it. "Thank you for coming," he says, and his eyes twinkle, "how's the Dreamscape here? Is it pretty or horrible? I hope it got a little prettier with today."
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
And then there's the groom, coming over to talk to her. The groom who just got married.
On the moon.
On the moon, where she is presently.
It should be no surprise that Emi feels a bit out of sorts and out of place here. She knows she's hardly alone in that and given this crowd the experience is likely universal to some extent or another. With her eyes downcast, Emi's long bangs at least half-shroud her face.
"I'm sure many happy dreams will be born this day, and that it will reverberate and shine down upon earth, in due time."
There's a smile. Emi has never been much of a smiler but she's smiling now. It doesn't quite reach her eyes, as it goes. "You knew I wouldn't be able to resist having a peek. It was ... unique. Like being able to step into a faded photograph and see it in full color for just a moment in time. Triump, tragedy, terror -- all there." She doesn't seem to want to go into detail, too much, given the magnitude of the joyous occasion.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
There's silence from the prince-- the groom-- for a moment as he listens, as he thinks about what Emi says. He pushes her cake over when she's done.
"For what it's worth, I didn't set you up; I didn't think of it until I saw you fall asleep," says Mamoru apologetically. "I'm sorry you had to see the end of the world. That kind of thing is-- we wanted to give it some new fresh good memories, to help cleanse the bad ones. It's sleeping, which I knew, but I wasn't sure if it dreamt."
He takes a bite of his cake and... wow, he's eating really good cake oh my god is this cake amazing it literally has magic ingredients--?? (It does!) He holds his hand in front of his mouth and glances to Emi and says, "Seriously try it, the ingredients come from Hinoiri-chan's magical pony land, and Mako-chan over there made it - that's Makoto Kino - and it's absurdly good. Unless you haven't eaten anything substantial yet, in which case, buffet is full of delicious also."
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
"I didn't think so," remarks Emi to Mamoru, "but I'd be careful nosing around in there, Mamoru. Old nightmares can find a place to grow again when fresh eyes interpret them anew."
Emi shakes her head, face screwing up a little in discomfort. She's not much for crowds, or discussing her business in the open. She's just terrible about these things which is why, of course, it's important that it happen.
"Congratulations. I'm really happy for you and Usagi, by the way." She didn't really know much about the whole 'New Moon' and 'Wicked Lady' stuff, as befitting someone who spends a lot of time in their own head (and, to be fair, in other people's heads.).
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Mamoru's talking with Emi, but for a moment his eyes are on Kazuo and Izou, and for another on Usagi and Ami, and one corner of his mouth turns up. Then his focus is back on the goth girl, "I can't see its dreamscape like you can. I can feel its... I can feel it through my connection with Usagi as much as my power, since it's her planet, not mine... but I can see its memories, and they match my own, and my nightmares. My eyes on it aren't fresh. Yours are, but you know how not to wake things up, right? You're the Oneiropope."
He has another bite of amazing cake, and that's a moment, and then he says, "I'll stop if you don't like that."
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
'Oneiropope' gets mouthed and Emi instead says nothing about it. One gets the sense right away that she's not going to admit to finding that very funny. Way too cool to acknowledge that. That's our Emi.
"It was quite a sight, "That's all... awful. I'm sorry," she offers, quietly, knowing what that must mean for them now that she's had a look herself. A lot of it was just incomprehensible to her, a thing she lacked understanding and context for.
"I'm very good at staying asleep, in any event."
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Mamoru's head tilts a little and one side of his mouth tips up. She's not telling him to stop. Excellent.
"It's fine, it was all the way back at the end of the pleistocene," he says, and drinks some juice. "I mean, it's not fine because it's in memory, so thank you, and sorry you had to see it. But yeah! You sure are, did you at least find a comfortable room to sleep in? Or were you under that tree I saw you at all day?"
He glances out to the dancers again, then finishes off his cake. "I want some more of those steak sliders and salads-in-cups," he says, getting up. "Is there anything you actually want?"
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
"Oh, what? No. I just sat down and took a nap, honestly," says Emi, "and then everything was weird for a while after that," you know, a battle and everything, "so I just kind of stayed out of the way." She casts a glance in the direction of the food he's eyeing.
"A whole lot of answers about the nature of dreams. I won't be getting them any time soon," she says, thoughtully, mismatched eyes closing as she considers it all.
"And it's fine, I've seen plenty awful things before." She gives a quick bow towards him in thanks for his offer of food but apparently she's just not that hungry.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Which is fair. Mamoru's not long in getting himself more to eat-- things have been busy enough he's probably eating for the first time today. The plate he's got is full of tiny food. It's also handy for conversations. Bite, talk, bite, talk, etc.
The older teenager comes back in his dark yukata with the light blue vines up the sleeves and around the hem, with the pink tips in his hair and the smudged glasses, and he deposits himself back at Emi's table. "Sometimes I have prophetic dreams," he says, "are those in your purview as well? I mean also I'd love to talk about dreams... is this dreamscape connected to any others?"
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
"I mean, maybe? I've never had or seen one before so I can't really say it's *not* my purview," answers Emi, thoughtfully, "but maybe they aren't? Guess we can try to find out!" She pauses, then she shakes her head at his last question.
"No. No I don't think it is. I think it's isolated, like a ship in a bottle. Or an island of dreams somewhere out there. I imagine it might be possible to get there by like... heading into the dreamsea? But you'd probably have to to swim through a ... lot to get there. Frankly, I'm a little surprised its endured if its as old as you say, and also, rewriting my history notes." She pinches the bridge of her nose.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"I've actually been thinking about that," Mamoru says, gesturing with a pink-sauce chicken meatball, then taking a bite of it and swallowing. "Whatever happened as part of the end of everything to shove the Moon Kingdom's ruins into an isolated pocket, I'm pretty sure shoved all evidence of my doors to Elysion -- that's the magical dreaming heart of my lost kingdom -- sideways into it too. No matter how hard I try, I can't dream of Elysion. I can get to dreams of places that led there, but not to Elysion itself."
A beat. "Uhh, when I say magical dreaming heart, it's a place there were doors to but you can also dream yourself there. Or teleport. I mean I'm not surprised I can't get in when I know I locked it, but I should at least be able to see it's there."
Mamoru looks at Emi again, licking his fingers, then taking his glasses off to polish them on his sleeve. "But there's only those barriers that the dreamscape's on the other side of, and it's always tangly roses and thorns. Lots and lots of thorns. It's like I grew them, but I don't remember doing that."
For a half second as he puts his glasses back on, Mamoru regards the thirteen-year-old. "Are we friends or am I too old and that's weird and we're professional associates?"
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
"Huh. That's interesting," answers Emi to Mamoru when he starts talking about being -unable- to dream something. Consider her curiosity piqued.
"Maybe we should go have a look," she muses, "but sometimes when something is sealed away like that, it's for a good reason, you know. And sure. Friends. You've helped me a lot. Calling you a business associate would be weird, rude, and impersonal."
And Emi is only rude in a particular way, after all. And some of that is just directly to Mister Sato.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Mister Sato deserves every bit of it.
"Good! Friends," the upperclassman says, grinning, then drinks some more juice. "That's a relief. Oh and--" Mamoru looks chagrined, "I'm really sorry about the dark energy users at the landlord dream fight. I had been marinating in dark energy myself and my decisions are markedly less intelligent when I'm near the stuff. But the only villain I brought is also the best man tonight, his speech made me cry. The villain who came to join me was actually just, you know, Usagi but brainwashed and stuffed full of dark energy! Which is why this wedding featured two boss fights."
He waves a hand around to clear the air and glances at the dancers again, this time watching longer, but talking to Emi anyway. "I'd like to have a look, yeah. And I mean, I can show you some memories of it, super detailed, you should be able to dream it from them, right? Like at least dream of a location you've seen?"
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
"... I did wonder what was going on," remarks Emi, "And I was ... very upset."
Seething, actually, but she had to cope with it until she found out somewhat what was going on around the time of the wedding. "I admit, I don't exactly keep up on events too well, but that's what happens when you're not in the mix sometimes. That's okay. And it's okay." She lets out a breath, "I don't know that it'd work that way. Maybe I can dream it, but it wouldn't be the *dream* of it." She narrows her eyes in thought, "and there's always a danger there, you know. As your Oneiro... Let me think a moment here." She closes her eyes. Ruminating.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
'Very upset'-- Mamoru grimaces apologetically, hiding behind a steak medallion brioche slider then eating it as Emi continues. He lets her ruminate for a while, eating another slider and a salad cup and finishing off his juice. Then he hazards, "Oneirohack? Oneiroflightattendant?"
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
"It's not just that you showed them the dreamscape, it's that people just ... threw my name around. Yeah, I don't exactly have a code name, but can we not just give my name to people who wield dark energy without telling me?" Emi pinches the bridge of her nose. She's got her secrets, it seems. "Like, I don't know. I just got pretty mad, you know?"
She's let it go. Mostly. The traces of frusrtration linger around the corners there.
"So. Tell you what. Like ... how about you try to dream it soon and then I'll show up and see what happens when you're trying."
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"I'll talk to Neph-- Masato," Mamoru says seriously, gesturing at Masato over there dancing with Makoto, "but he's one of mine, and I'm the one who brought Riventon, so even though he's the one who flung your name around, I'm ultimately responsible. But he needs to like -- think? First? Before using someone's real name in the field? In the first place."
There's a moment where the prince is just rubbing his face, and then he looks sidelong at Emi. "I'm still cheering for Oneiropope, by the way, it's short enough to be useful." He exhales. "You have every right to be furious, and I honestly have no idea how to make it up to you. So..."
Mamoru looks at his hands, then at Emi again. (Honestly the pink tips don't look bad. They just don't match the outfit.) "So, okay. I'll text you when I'm going to try to dream it. Sound good?"
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
Emi makes a show of rolling her eyes at 'oneiropope' though it's not with any real tension behind it. She sniffs.
"I'm used to people I don't know showing up. Less so when there's something so -wrong- about then, and then finding out maybe they already know about me was a bit unsettling." She was, perhaps, able to catch snippets of things that were said, but it's probably fortunate she's missing the whole picture.
"And it's fine, just make sure that that he understands that there are -consquences- for that kind of carelessness. Just because I didn't have to pay the price this time doesn't mean someone won't eventually if we're not careful, huh?" She rolls her shoulders. "No sweat."
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Wait, who already knew about you?" Mamoru frowns, straightening a little bit. "I'm not responsible for Catra being there, she's in the middle of a redemption arc or something though. But she's Hinoiri's girlfriend, and Hinoiri and Catra are also friends with Riventon, and Neph is frienemies with Riv... it's a whole big complicated thing and it's less dangerous than it could be, but, he still doesn't know Sailor Moon's ID even after today. So, yeah, I'll make sure he understands. At which point he'll probably come apologize, and you get to deal with that awkwardness, only sorry enough to give you the warning."
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
"About the dreamscape," mutters Emi in answer to the first part, and then she just sort of nods along to the rest. When Catra and Hinori are mentioned, she just sort of rolls her eyes dismissively. Ew. -Romance-. Emi Hoshino is way too cool for that stuff. Doesn't have any effect on her whatsoever, no sirree.
"And yeah, it's okay. It just all felt ... sloppy, yeah. That is a good word," she says, using the word 'sloppy' in english. "It's all okay."
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"The first time I said anything to him about it was that night when I was like 'come help me fight nightmares' and he was like 'is this that dreamscape stuff?' So yeah I guess he did..." says Mamoru, tipping his chair back towards the marble column next to them, frowning again. He glances back up to Emi and nods. "<Sloppy,>" he agrees and is unfairly good at pronouncing it because of-fucking-course he is. "It was. You're right."
He looks up at the dancers again, but the music's changing; he doesn't look like he's going to try and escape the consequences of this conversation. He does look like he's going to eat a chicken meatball with butter chicken sauce, though.
- Ami Mizuno has posed:
Ami was all smiles and flushed cheeks as she managed to pirouette her way clear of Usagi, breathlessly making her way over. Of course, it was Mamoru who had caught her eye now and it'd be hard for him to miss the gratitude written across her face.
Even if he did. Well. She was here now, wasn't she?
"Mamoru-kun!" The senshi, often demure and a little withdrawn, seemed to be quite lively just now as she came to a half-bounced stop by their table.
Sapphires shifted to Emi beside. Was she familiar? Ami couldn't quite place her. So, of course, more smiles. "Hello!"
Ami was swimming amongst the clouds right now.
- Nephrite has posed:
Leaving Makoto and Usagi to chat for a moment as Wako starts another song, Masato isn't far behind Ami in leaving the dancefloor. He's mostly coming to check in on Mamoru, and that much is evident in how he casually strides up, but he doesn't make that strictly obvious. It was a big event, after all, it was good to see Mamoru taking time aside with meatballs.
He grinned from over Ami's shoulder, stopping only to clap hands on them and offer her a look. "Look at you, cutting a rug out there, Ami-chan. I don't think I've seen you smiling that big since you discovered the wonders of good Sandesh."
He lifted his head to flash the grin at Mamoru and Emi. He too, seemed to be in a good mood.
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
As Ami and Masato roll up to the conversation, Emi takes a step back. It's automatic, space-seeking. Just ensuring she's got plenty of it. She's already a bit stressed out by the noises and crowds, after all, and the partying mahou. It's well earned, but all the same, it's not exactly like Emi is a partier. She glances between the two of them, then to Mamoru. While she's met Masato, obviously, she isn't as familiar with Ami.
Like, at all.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Ami-chan!" Mamoru starts to call loud but quiets because oh Ami's half-jogging. He glances at Emi, then gestures between the two, "Emi, meet Ami, and Ami, meet Emi. Emi's the friend of Usako's and mine who knows about how to deal with nightmares. Ami is Usako's girlfriend, and also obviously a magical girl since she's here today. Here, pull up a chair, but definitely make sure we have our space, this is the introvert table."
His own chair leans away from the marble architecture he'd been leaning on, and the feet clack back on the patio, and he looks up at Neph and snappoints at him. "We owe Ami-chan at least two pallets of good Sandesh."
Then he makes grabbymotions with that hand, like, a fraction of a second later. He's just looking for contact to do all his tattling in psychometric shorthand, and it comes out looking something like 'i am so oversocialized that ive come out the other side and begun inflicting social on another antisocial disaster who btw has been accidentally wronged by us i'll give you the details later did you know that earplugs can actually start to hurt like a demon if you leave them in literally all day, i want to go lie down in the dark can i do that yet im just waiting to touch base with kazuo before blessed relief' sort of thing.
- Ami Mizuno has posed:
Ami jolted into a near jump for the clasp at her shoulders.
"I'm not the only one, Masato-kun. I didn't think you knew how to smile quite that hard for anything other than cats and mice." She smiled back at Masato all the same, before letting her attention drift back to Mamoru.
"And I owe you a big hug and some of the Danish chocolate I brought back with me." Ami agreed on the subject of sandesh. "Sadly, I neither have a pallet's worth nor have it here with me. What with us being on the Moon and my dress without pockets."
Indeed, her dress was actually rather muted and plain and entirely without pockets. A rich navy blue with short sleeves and skirt cutting off just below her knees. It was well tailored, however.
"It's good to meet you, Emi-san." Ami dipped her head politely.
She had seen her somewhere before, sleeping. Ami had, at the time, been transporting the bubblegum pink throne as Sailor Mercury.
- Nephrite has posed:
Masato clearly found himself amused by Ami's little jolt, but it was in good fun. He takes himself down a notch or two, though-- this is the introvert's table, and Masato is certainly an ambivert of special kind, able to switch his gears from boistrous to gentler. He smooths out, casually reaching to the grabbing hands. From Ami to Mamoru, his touch is transferred, and along with it he takes in the information Mamoru is letting fly. Mamoru's about how he expected to find him, at this point-- aching ears and all. A gentle flood of reassurance, because Masato will cover him if he does disappear somewhere, and some sypathy, and joy, and curiosity all come through a squeeze.
Sapphire eyes turn to Emi, and he nods. "It's good to see you made it, though, Emi-san. Did you enjoy the cake?"
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
"It's good cake," is Emi's answer to Masato. There's a courteous bow towards Ami in turn, like for like, and then she just sort of stares at Mamoru for a long moment.
"Y...you left them in all -day-? Why don't you just shove a mass of q-tips in there? It'll do the same thing." Not like she's not sympathetic to the need to deal with noise in some fashion from time to time, it can be hard to heart yourself thionk over Tokyo, but she does smile all the same at the end and leans back on her heels in a relaxed posture.
"Yeah," she says, "No big deal. Just got invited to the wedding of the ... millenium?" She guesses, "Aeon? I don't know. Definitely the century, anyway." She combs her fingers through her hair and looks moderately flustered.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Mamoru looks faintly horrified, and drags his hands down his suddenly-blushing face. "That was out loud? Okay, I really-- have to excuse me, aheh," he says, getting up. "Ami-chan -- I will love to have those things at some other time. Emi-chan, I'll text you... Masato I'll see you in a bit okay?" he sort of half-asks (hehe) rhetorically as he turns and takes his leave.
He's married. He is a husband. ... on the MOON.
- Ami Mizuno has posed:
Ami offered a faint bow in the direction that Mamoru scurried. It was the kind of fluster that only Mamoru could really pull off and all she could really do was smile after him. Of course, she had meant some other time. In the same way that he wasn't about to dump two pallets worth of sandesh on her.
On the moon.
"It's not something that I think about often, but it is much nicer than the next most-recent memories of this place." Ami offered in agreement to Emi, almost absently.
Of course, that would at least out her as one of the Senshi. But, Mamoru had already passed along her mahou-ness. She could live with that much.
"I still can't believe the turnout, though."
- Nephrite has posed:
Masato watched Mamoru go with a small smile, full of affection and no shortage of sympathies and pride. "Sure." He nodded, and shook his head a little bit as he drew out a chair-- for Ami, first, and then one for himself to settle into.
"It needed to be a big turnout, given the pre-amble." Leg hooked over the other, in his crisp suit of black and red-patterned lapel and waistcoat, adorned with gold accessories and an expensive watch. He looks as if he could pull out a cigar at any moment. He doesn't, but it's easy to imagine. "I'm looking forward to tomorrow, though. And a long nap, if possible."
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
Peering after Mamoru, Emi pauses, then says, "Y-yeah. Big turn out." A glance cast between them back and forth before she gives a nod towards Ami, taking that as an indication that she's one of Mamoru and Usagi's confederates. She doesn't know a lot about that -- pretty clearly given the level of confusion she often expressed during everything going forward, but she turns towards Masato when he mentoons a nap and then smiles at him.
"I'm sure everyone's going to get a good night's sleep after this," she tells him. The talk of memories of this place by Ami seems to have unsettled her, reminded her of something. She lowers her head so that her bangs fall freely in front of her face again, doing her finest 'Sadako' without crawling out of a well.
- Ami Mizuno has posed:
"Thank you, Masato-kun." Ami said quietly before settling down into the chair he'd pulled for her, then her hands settled into her lap and her eyes closed.
A long, deep breath in and out. Followed by an afffirmative nod.
"I think I'll even set my alarm for eight-thirty." The senshi mused, smiling at the imagined image of it already. "And then, straight into homework... and, I think, Rome-kun's due for another session..."
Ami let her eyes flutter open again, slipping to Masato. "You, definitely, just need to sleep, though. If the bags under your eyes get any larger, you'll have to have them checked the next time you travel."
Meeting Emi's gaze warmly, Ami seemed quite oblivious to Emi's subtle retreat.
- Nephrite has posed:
Masato's gaze quietly studies Emi, who seems so very small to him-- he hadn't noticed before. She is quite cute, in a gothic little sister way. But she looks a little troubled. And, of course, there's the matter of having accidentally wronged her now looming at the edges of it all. It's awash with the hectic blur of everything else, but after a moment, he thinks he recalls why.
He does offer Ami a mildly harassed look at her mild teasing. "They are designer bags, though? I might be tired, but I wear it well."
He grimaces at Emi, "I haven't had a good night's sleep in weeks." Or much of a schedule, if he's honest, but he's not about to say that. "You just dropped off earlier on cue... it's impressive how you do that."
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
Emi Hoshino's pretty small. She's a short Japanese girl, even by the standards of Japanese girls being a little short. She presses her palms together in front of her and then eyes Ami. Homework. Ugh. How can she look so excited about such a thing."You'll have good dreams," she tells Masato, seemingly confident about that. "And it's a gift. Despite being a normal Japanese girl, I have a few of those, and I'm just often very tired." A nod follows.
"The dreamscape here was ... well. Mamoru knows."
- Ami Mizuno has posed:
"I'm sure you'd wear pretty much anything well." Ami conceded to Masato with a smile. "Makoto-san seemed very happy, at least."
She didn't quite take her attention away from Emi entirely, just a brief glance in the Shitennou's direction before her gaze returned.
The dreamscape here...
Ami could imagine but she wasn't about to say so. She was also certain that Masato could, too. Some part of the both of them had lived it and remembered it. The senshi shook her head shortly, though, unwilling to let distant pasts return to the now. Not when there was so much love and promise here and ahead.
- Nephrite has posed:
Masato nods at Emi, and he can indeed imagine-- things that happened here, in so many ways, were frozen and crystallized. An isolated time capsule, a strange little anomaly. He always liked to think of it like a bubble, gently afloat in the aether.
He'd never really known how some of his dreams had gotten to him-- cryptic glimpses into a past life, and visions called down from the stars to be divined-- but the promise of good dreams tonight was a welcome one. A reprieve, given the weight of what all this might have otherwise pulled forth from the locked box of his ancient memories.
"That's a relief to know..." He exhaled to relax some. "I might have missed sleep and homework, alike, but tomorrow is a new day. The cazimi is working as it should... and of course Makoto is happy. Jupiter in Cancer?" He smirked a little. "Moving into the fourth House, strongly grounding us all to emotional steadiness and a sense of home? It's a lucky time for us all. Tomorrow truly is a New Moon."
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
Emi Hoshino clearly feels out of her depth here, really, and one can hardly blame her for that. She's at a wedding -on the moon-, and even the lightest bounce of her feet reminds her of it. Everything feels off. "I'm glad," she tells Masato, "It's past time things got better for at least -some- of you." While she's not aware of all the fine details, she kind of had a sense about how wrong some things had gone. She looks like she has no idea what she's supposed to say next. Help! Awkwardness!! She smooths her ruffled skirts. So goth.
- Ami Mizuno has posed:
Of course, she caught the pleased little smirk that came right on the heels of a statement about Jupiter. Ami wasn't particularly well versed on the finer points of astrology but she still closed her eyes and sought to recall whatever she could.
And, of course, he'd already said it before. Family and home. Jupiter in Cancer, both in the symbolism of what was currently happening and his own progress.
Ami smiled and let her eyes blink open again.
"Some of us?" That was very specific.
Blue settled upon Emi once again, inquisitive.
- Nephrite has posed:
"In perfect fairness, Ami-chan," Masato conceded, "I have only relatively recently stopped thinking of myself as a complete bastard."
He chuckled a little at his own expense, idly toying with his lion-head tie pin-- Regulus, of Leo. "Though, I might not be out of the woods there, yet... I fall into old habits when Riventon's around without thinking, it seems."
He reflected upon that in abstract, polite enough not to draw direct attention to the matter.
"Still. It's been a beautiful wedding... I'll be hard pressed to top all this, I think."
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
"I'm ... I'm honestly not sure 'wedding on the moon' can be topped," remarks Emi.
"It's the wedding of -so- many dreams, I'm sure, never to be replicated. At least, not in my lifetime." She gives her shoulders a shrug, maintaining an air of casual indifference, even in these most ridiculous of circumstances. "Yes. There's still a lot going on," she tells Ami, "as far as I can tell. I'm not up to date on all the specifics after all." She focuses her blue eye on Ami while her green one closes.
- Ami Mizuno has posed:
Ami nodded slowly in reply.
"I have been terrifically out of the overall loop of things." She offered in explanation. "Since I'ver come home, pretty much everything I've done has been focused on this."
A glance out until she found Usagi again. "Of course, there's the Black Moon Clan still out there. And the strange coffee-filter wasp at the mall... But, aside from that, really? There's probably some catching up to do."
Her head swivelled a little further then until she settled upon Masato once more and then the blue-haired senshi frowned. "You're anything but a basta--"
Ami cleared her throat.
"Once of those. I'm pretty certain we wouldn't have succeeded without you. You did a lot, Masato-kun." And it went unspoken, but clearly there was the hint in there.
In the way her brows knit together. He'd held her together, too, and that hadn't gone unnoticed.
- Nephrite has posed:
"Ah," He smirked, and waggled a finger in front of Ami's face-- clicking his tongue. "Almost got you to say it."
But, Masato did think back on the other things, and rolled his shoulder coolly. "I'm sure my wedding will be fantastic, either way. If I have it sooner, rather than later? I could have grand illusions of the cosmos turning around us. Falling stars over the catering. My bride walking down the Milky Way..." H waves his hand in some vague imagining of it all, "A nebula of colour. And then at the other end, a garden. Her garden, just the way she wants it-- full of beautiful flowers, and lovely oak trees."
Well, as much as he might dream of such things, the truth was, perhaps it would be a humble Shinto wedding at the end of it. Mundane by comparison, but personal. Special.
Masato clicked his tongue, and frowned. "... Did you say something about a coffee wasp?"
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
The look of someone who feels like not just like a fifth wheel in the moment, but also the sixth, seven, and eight wheel -- hell, a whole other car -- is on Emi's face right now. She just sort of stares between the two of them. There's so much passing between them, so much history she has tangibly tasted a piece of, that she doesn't know what to say, or how to interject. So she doesn't.
Instead, she falls silent again, for just a moment, eyes casting back down to the ground in thought.
"Well. Thank you for helping me with the nightmare," she tells Masato. "Nightmares. Plural. You came to help Hinoiri that one time too, didn't you?" She can never be sure. So many faces, so many disguises.
- Ami Mizuno has posed:
"You are a menace, though." Ami told Masato quite sternly. "And, yes. Coffee wasp. I still have to go over the data from that encounter, but according to Cure Chai's little friend, she can take the sweetness from people. The result, for us, was a french press youma."
Her attention drifted back to Emi and the senshi let her head lull a little to one side. Nightmares. Plural. "You fight nightmares? To guard pleasant dreams and good sleep? That's... pretty amazing, actually. If you ever need a hand--"
She caught her name called and glanced off toward the dance floor. Minako.
"Well, duty calls!" Ami smiled happily, before rising from her chair for another round of dancing.
- Nephrite has posed:
Masato had not the foggiest idea who Cure Chai was. But being attacked by coffee monsters was the very last thing he wanted to find himself in the midst of. He shook his head slowly, returning his attention to Emi.
"Right... I was. I remember the giant printers and the sea of cubicles." A pause. "And the kraken in an elevator. Which is now only the second weirdest experience with an elevator I have had, now that we've also been in an elevator to Hell."
He says that very dryly. "I still don't really have any idea what to make of all that, but you seem to have your hands full. I should apologize, I didn't mean to cause you any trouble. last time. We've had a couple of clumsy slips, recently, with everything else going on... Burnt out. But it isn't an excuse."
He bows his head in a moment of formality. "I remember those cameras watching us, when we rescued Hinoiri. Though I'd like to think Mamoru can keep his thumb on Riventon, where you're concerned, I realise it's more than Riventon you need to worry about."
He shifts to stand from his chair, though. "I should go and check in with Wako-san about our performance... She's been up there for a few songs now."
- Emi Hoshino has posed:
Emi Hoshino looks .... perhaps a little mollified.
"I appreciate that a lot, actually," she says, "It's cool. You don't need to worry about it. And your help really was appreciated. More nightmares have gotten out of the dreamscape than I'd like, and I really need to get into the why of that." She frowns, glancing down in the direction of -earth-. Seeing it from this perspective is a life-changing experience. Of course, it's a vista she's already seen in dreams, but to actually be here -herself-...
She lets out a breath, then turns away.
"Yeah, anyway. We're cool."
