| Synopsis: | After her recent encounters with Coco, Glimmer finally takes a moment to see what's going on with the strange, orange necklace she wears... and tries to work out a deal with the heart within, Seira. Or, at the very least, let her know that things will be alright. Unfortunately, she does little to calm the girl's worries. |
| Cast of Characters: | Glimmer Brightmoon, Seira |
- Glimmer Brightmoon has posed:
Glimmer Brightmoon was sitting on top of the Moonstone, holding the necklace in her palm, eying it. It had given her power to rescue her mom... but... there was something else about it. Soemthing she was... uncertain of. Something else to it. Things that Coco had said. Things that the other girl had said. Things that made her a little... uncomfortable.
And she was beginning to think there was more this necklace than she had initially suspected. So, it was time to find out. She took a slow, deep breath before trying to find out. She closed her eyes and tried reaching out. "Hey... uhhhhh... anything... in there?" she asked, feeling a little silly to even do this. Right. Probably... dumb to do it like that. She didn't know. Maybe it was a waste of her time. Maybe it wasn't. Who knew?
... Maybe it was. GAH. She felt so silly now. her cheeks burning a little redder now as she held the necklace.
- Seira has posed:
In the white emptiness that housed her Seira had gotten used to ever since Michel had absorbed her into his soul, the young mermaid had cut her own little oasis for herself, a space just like the one that was hidden inside her pearl, a gathering of clear waters surrounded by corals at the center of which a pillar stands, the resting place of the orange princess's shell bed.
Seira wasn't on it, however. She was currently laying on her back, swimming leisurely, looking up at where the azure of her soul's mind returned to Michel's white. It's just a buzz at the perimeter of her consciousness what distracts her, something she had learnt to associate with being called on, in one of the three directions her soul was currently split at. This buzz however, didn't come from the general feeling she attributed to her own pearl, but rather the minuscule path of Glimmer's amulet.
Wih the mermaid swimming first and floating then in that direction, the locket Glimmer is holding starts to glow orange, and in front of her Seira appears, a translucent figure of the orange mermaid whose hair came down to just above her tailfin, outlined by an orange glow. "Glimmer?", she asks tentatively, letting the implicit question stretch the silence.
- Glimmer Brightmoon has posed:
Glimmer Brightmoon barely resisted shrieking, but didn't resisted dropping the amulet on her stomach, barely catching it when it bounced. "Gah! Err, uhhh. H-hey. You. Errrr. Sara? Was it? I mean... ummm. I guess... Yes. No. You're not... You're kind of like... Sara. Or... Michel? Fuku?" she asked, blinking a few times.
"... Coco's inner child?" she asked.
"... I got no idea. Hey. Yes. Glimmer Brightmoon. Nice to, ummm, finally meet you. Hey there... you. It's uhhhh... nice to ummm. Meet you, at last. So uhhh... Howdy. There. I guess... it's... hi."
She awkwardly looked around the office. "This is ummmm... my office. This is my Moonstone... it's a nice Moonstone... ummmm... I guess... that song I sung that time might have been yours? What, errrr... should I call you?"
Okay so she wasn't nuts. Or she was nuts and this was just... a minor episode. Or a major one.
- Seira has posed:
Considering Glimmer had only ever seen Sara during a fight, back when the Princess of the Indian Ocean either had her black hair, or she was close to dying, she wouldn't be wrong for assuming Seira was some sort of Sara reborn. That misconception doesn't live long though. "No, just Seira, I am... her heir. Or will be", she shakes her head. She doesn't even being to address the assertion she is like Michel or Fuku. That she has no idea about.
She holds her arms down, hands placed one against the other midway through, eyes slightly wider at the last assertion. "Coco is helping me learn many things, but she is not a mom. She is more like a sister", and then she adds with a hesitant timbre, "From one mother." That's the best way they can describe it. And for both their sakes, this is never going to reach Coco.
Her eyes dart around the place when Glimmer redirects Seira's focus to the office, and she gives particular attention to the Moonstone below her. Name aside, it's not hard to understand its magical nature by the feeling it gives. "That actually was my song, the one I sing from my heart. Are you needing something?" she asks curiously.
- Glimmer Brightmoon has posed:
Glimmer Brightmoon gave a small nod. "O-oh. I... see. That's... oh," she said. She really didn't get it, but that was still helpful. She glanced down at the necklace. "I guess we're working together then, kind of? Heh. Uhhhhh... yeah. Coco seems... nice?" she said.
"... So ummmmm..." She then pointed down at the necklace. "... Why are you coming from here, though? Michel gave me this to help me... save my mom and well... now... I'm guessing there's something going on here that I'm not exactly privy too. But there's also stuff going on here that you're not exactly privy to, too. So I figure we should clear the air, more or less..."
"... Especially if you know who I am, I suspect you've been keeping an eye on me with this. And if you're talking to Coco, that means you've been keeping an eye on me, and now that means you've been able to tell them what I've been up to, when I keep the necklace near. Doesn't it?" she asked. Just a hint warily.
- Seira has posed:
Glimmer asserting in her confused way that they are working together makes Seira stare blankly at the pinkette. That was hardly something she would have expected from one of her captors, and the more she speaks, the more it is clear to her the Queen of Brightmoon doesn't really knows what she has walked into, a breach of light entering her heart. Perhaps, they are just seconds away from more of her fragments being returned to her pearl.
"She is, she has been showing me many things, and her new boyfriend seems kind", she drops while her mind picks and discards words. "Michel... He doesn't really seem to care about those that aren't working with him on his vision. I am part of him, as I get it? That's what he seems to have done, when I was ready to be born. And then he gave you some of my heart fragments. So, you are connected to me too now."
She gives Glimmer a serious look. "This is important, Glimmer. You have to give my heart fragments to Coco, or I will never be born. Coco may be upset with you, but she has also told me good things about you, so I am sure you get why you cannot hold onto them. Not just me, but the mermaids of the Indian Ocean need this too. Without me, the kingdom will never be rebuilt, and they won't be able to return to their old lives."
- Glimmer Brightmoon has posed:
Glimmer Brightmoon nodded along, listening and... the more Seira talked, the more she realized something was wrong. She frowned, sitting up and staring at the other girl.
And then... "Oh..." she finally mumbled.
She stared at the necklace. "So... this necklace was made... of parts of you, then?" she asked. "I... didn't know that," Glimmer admitted. "Well... that's..." She lifted it up, clenching her fists, before sighing. "Unfortunately, it's not that simple. Michel... isn't the bad guy you think he is. At least... not fully. He actually DID help me, you know. If not for him..." Her mom would still be trapped. She reached up and put the necklace on. "But... It's not right to leave your kingdom to suffer, either. My mother wouldn't want that, either. *I* wouldn't... let that happen. There's also a really, really nasty guy here, Horde Prime. And I think Michel may be helpful against him. On top of that... Adora still needs to wake up as She-ra. And there's still the whole Catra situation. And right now I've got my plate full trying to make sure I'm keeping enough focus and pulling enough weight on my own to keep aggro off all of them. So how about this."
She hopped off the stone.
"I'll hold onto the necklace for now, and you and I work together for now. When Coco gets the others and these are the only ones left? I'll turn them over, no harm, no fuss. I'll try and see what I can do with Michel, too. He's not a bad guy, either. There are some... nasty people here. Trust me. I know that.... but... trust me. There is a huge difference between someone who is terrible to the core, and someone who is pushed to the breaking point and just needs a hand to pull them back from that edge." She reached up and stroked a hand over that necklace.
"... It doesn't really make a difference, right? Like... if you need all of them, if I hold a few of them versus Coco holding a few more until the end, right? Oh. And don't tell Adora about the whole like... any of this. I'm still trying to figure out *how* to get her to go She-ra and that girl is *incredibly* stubborn. I'm starting to think I might have to *Actually* make her think I've gone evil or something to get her to figure it out. Ugh. I can't believe how much of a mess all of this is."
"... Ummm... does... it hurt if you're in the necklace or... like... anything? Should.... I like... polish... you... or anything?"
- Seira has posed:
Seira's face contorts in a frown at Glimmer's refusal, a troubled flash passing over her eyes. This is not good. She is not sure how much of that is the fact her heart fragments will stay where they are, or the fact Glimmer has fully bought in the idea of Michel's paradise, but they are both troublesome in different ways.
Despite not approving it, she can see where Glimmer is coming from. Both her and Michel are desperate people, willing to do anything for what they think is right. She has gotten a first hand look at the angel's problems, these past months, his sense of inferiority masked as superiority, his need to believe that what he is doing will solve all his problems, the writhing pain that occasionally wrecks through his body... And now Glimmer suffering for the solitude she has had to experience away from her mother, her worry for Adora, and her belief that going evil will push her to return to being She-Ra... They really are quite similar, aren't they?
"Glimmer... Michel helped you with pieces he has obtained from stealing my life, and the life of my people. I understand how important your mother is to you, but don't treat him using me in a way that helps you as a good thing. If you aren't careful, you will be drawn in the way he thinks. If you aren't careful, you will be pulled down the edge with him, instead of the other way around. What do you know about his paradise?" She would normally be happy at having someone who wants to turn Michel away from his way of thinking and happy to postpone the surrending of the locket to work with her, but Glimmer's talk of turning evil for Adora's sake doesn't really fill her with confidence. Rather, she is someone who needs to be dissuaded.
And ultimately, if she can't convince Glimmer, then she can't do anything on her own. She is stuck here with her until Coco or any of the others is able to take her fragment away from Glimmer. "It's just a container. I don't feel what happens to it", is Seira's reply to the matter of polishing her prison.
- Glimmer Brightmoon has posed:
Glimmer Brightmoon shook her head. "I mean.... I guess it's not. But... I don't know much about his way of paradise. I just know he's an angel. And we don't have a lot of those where I'm from. I mean, we're not really... the same, I guess. We're likely not the same at all, honestly. Maybe some distant ancestor kind of thing? Possibly cause of the first ones or something, I don't know. But... I don't know. I do know he offered me help. He didn't ask for help." She, admittedly, wasn't aware of how much they were asking of her. But that was also the point, she wasn't SUPPOSED to know. So therein lied the kicker, in many ways.
"But... it'll be fine, trust me. Just tell Coco and her friends to worry about the others, okay? All they need to do is gather the rest. Once they have them? I'll turn these ones over, without any fight. I won't stop them from getting you back in one piece. And in the mean time? I'll help you where I can. Just... well... I'm sure... I know what he did was wrong. I wasn't... I didn't see what happened to you. And I'm sorry. I know... it must have been terrible. He didn't... kill you. But if you're in this state, it must have sucked. And I'm sorry you're... trapped like this. But... I don't... think he's a cruel, heartless monster or anything, Seira."
"I've *met* a cruel, vicious, heartless monster. I've met the kind of irredeemable monster that only cares about destroying and tearing everything around it apart. That's what I'm trying to help protect this world, and my friends, from. That's why we need She-ra. I'm a lot stronger than I look. And a ton more stubborn. I won't be pulled down into the depths with him, I promise. Just trust me, okay? I make a lot of bad choices at times, but I'd never be dumb enough to *actually* turn evil."
She turned back to look at Seira. "So... what can you tell me about his paradise, though? What can you tell me about it that has you like... so... spooked?"
- Seira has posed:
"No, he is nothing like that", Seira agrees with Glimmer. And therein lies the conflict. She wants to help him, and pull him away from his current path, but she isn't getting much hope Glimmer will be able to help with any of it. And Fuku, or Lanhua, or Alala, or Lady Bat, she is not sure what any of their deal is, and the one of the living flame, but for now, she is more interested in talking to Michel whenever she gets the occasion.
Glimmer's Assurance that she won't turn evil doesn't really fall on believing ears. What the ghostly girl knows of dark energy is it's really insidious, and changes anyone who falls in its grasp for the worse. That's how Sara was too, before she looked towards hope again, and it took her a long while to get there, with lots of destruction in between. She cannot in all conscience, tell Coco not to worry about Glimmer, not when Glimmer seems to be very close to do something she will need saving from.
"His paradise is a world where magical races can prosper and reign over the Earth, both those who still exist and those who disappears, but it's a world that has no regards for humans. Michel doesn't love them, and would prefer them them at his service or gone, instead of what is going on now. He may mean well, but that's now what he needs, Glimmer, and he seems convinced that things will improve, even for his own suffering."
- Glimmer Brightmoon has posed:
Glimmer Brightmoon gave a small nod, her hand gently stroking the necklace. So that was what he wanted, huh. "Huh... well... we'll see, then. I'll see what I can do for him. He's helped me, so I won't just abandon him. But... I won't let him go around and just destroy all humans, either," Glimmer said firmly. "Just have a little faith in me, okay? You're along for the ride, I guess. So not like you have a lot of choice, but..." She then reached out towards the image of her, but then stopped and shook her head.
"I mean that, though. Just... tell Coco, I guess. And don't tell anyone else, though. As far as anyone else knows? I don't have any intention of that. If Michel knew, he'd likely take the necklace back, anyway. And then you'd be worse off. So just... be patient, for now. Sorry I can't offer much more. Things WILL get better, though. I mean it," she said.
"... Either way, I've got homework to get to, so ummm... this has been a great talk, though. I'll... see you later. Bye," she said sliding the necklace back under her shirt and waving goodbye to Seira, hoping that will, well... break the connection for now.
- Seira has posed:
The orange mermaid spends a few seconds in contemplation of what Glimmer has told her, and what the pinkette might be doing for the future, and she doesn't find herself changing her mind. She is certainly going to talk to Coco about it, and from there she is mostly sure that it won't take long for it to reach Adora, and probably other people. So far, she doesn't know Coco as someone who would dally when there is something troublesome going on. Rather the opposite, in fact. You will get help, please don't resist.
Reaching out for Seira would have done much unless Glimmer found the visual of having her hand pass through someone's body funny, but it's not something Seira would have felt. Being along for the ride with little input really wouldn't be the pleasant part, and being told that by the person choosing to do nothing would make it even more so, even if Glimmer has shared her reasons. She is thinking to retire herself for the moment when Glimmer puts the necklace under her shirt, and then Seira waves back to the pink-haired girl, before going back to the whiteness of Michel's soul.
